Where should you search for a girl in the FSU ?

Recently and in the past there have been arguments regarding where a
guy should look to find a woman. Some have argued that certain places
no longer have suitable girls for marriage or that finding them are increasingly
difficult because of the surplus of competitors and sex tourists.

Please vote (up to three) and please tell me about the places that I surely forgot
to list.

I didn't list non FSU places like Philippines or China or South America. If you think 
one of those places is the best place to search for a wife feel free to post your
opinion.

I voted for Russia, Ukraine, and Home. 

But, one option I will tell any newbie starting their search, that would be to stay home and find a nice lady here as there are still plenty of nice women, you just need to be a lot more realistic on appearance and age as you usually do not have an economic advantage to exploit to attract the nice ones.

I voted for "Bill is like most Americans and has no clue about geography", "Bill proved finally that he is an idiot"  and "Other country" since my ex is Chinese born.  Besides as I've said before there are far more westerners searching for brides in Asia than in eastern Europe.  They're apparently under the misconception that Asian women are submissive and obedient.

Bill, Russia and Ukraine are the two most common so I selected:
Belarus
Moldova
Uzbekistan

Belarus is teeming with very nice ladies who don't have the same level of opportunity to be noticed as Russia and Ukraine. The name of Belarus literally means "white Russia" and is often termed as little Russia. Same bloodlines and cultural values.

Moldova is also visited only infrequently and is an extremely poor country, not as destitute as Albania but close, but with cultural mindsets similar to Ukrainians and Romanians.

Uzbekistan is a taste of Asia, seasoned with Russian history and culture, and unlike either Russia or Ukraine in some respects, there are many attractive similarities. Beautiful ladies, some Asian and some Russian, with good values.

Of course Kazakhstan is also a country of very nice people and many of the ladies possess the best of European-Russian and Asian qualities. A quality man could find a great wife in Kazakhstan, our own Tom being an example.

I'm curious to hear what anyone may have to say about Latvia and Estonia.  They are not on my radar.  I am just wondering.

Anyway, am not going to vote since I have never been.  But since I plan to WMVO I'm going to focus on the girl to visit rather than the country.  But I do like reading what you have to say about different countries and what "type" of women one would expect to find there.  I sure would like to hear what ladies currently living in Ukraine have to say about the prospects of a man coming to their country to find a good woman.

In Ukraine, I'm guessing a significant number are more concerned with how much money you're prepared to spend than your personality qualities.

Despite a total lack of personal experience, you seem to waste no opportunity to trash Ukraine and Ukrainian ladies. Even in this question, which certainly did not look for cracks from the peanut gallery.

True enough, Ukraine cannot compete with the incredible number of hookers in Moscow--as you can probably attest from personal experience.

No country today has a corner on the market of ladies looking for financial advancement..which, I repeat, has *nothing* to do with the question asked.

However, I am sure you can attest to women attracted to the "money you are prepared to spend." I'm sure the women you brag about in the strip joint don't give you lap dances because they like your baby blue eyes or your svelt figure, after all.

Those of us married to Ukrainian ladies know there are many very sincere women here seeking honestly for their match. Not all are mercenary or money-focused--my wife certainly is not.

In fact, I fail to see how someone so focused on hookers, strip bars, lap dances et al. would have much to recommend to others who are actually more interested in finding their own lifemates rather than having hookers to escort them to golf tournaments.

Since, according to your many posts on these subjects you seem mostly to hang out with the most mercenary denizens of Moscow, in fact, to hear you run down Ukrainian women en masse in this fashion seems more than a little hypocritical.

Anyone seeking the advice from such a paragon of personal rectitude as you are should personally feel free to do so--but take anything you have to say about Ukraine with a definite grain of salt, if not the entire shakey, er, shaker.

I voted Ukraine. Belarus and Moldova.  I have only been to Ukraine because I like it and I found the woman of my dreams there. I am with her now in Kharkov. I will always recommend Ukraine first because I like the country and the people.

I voted Russia for the obvious reason, I wouldn't have considered voting for the others as I have never visited them (except Ukraine), I have no knowledge to base my decisions upon! How could I vote Belarus, Moldova etc my feet have never touched an inch of their soil!

I have reasons why I wouldn't recommend Ukraine and they are just based on my experiences and observations! However, the bottom line is this is a large pool in which to meet ladies and the right one might be anywhere! Myself personally if I had to do it again (armed with the knowledge I have) I would avoid Ukraine unless an absolutely unavoidable lady appeared, and who's to say this could never happen?

One can find a good woman pretty much anywhere. In the smaller FSU republics, one may be the first Western bride-seeker that the locals have ever seen, though. Given the trash that has come and gone in the larger capital cities, it is impossible to overstate this advantage.

Assuming a plan of getting to know the person or few relatively well (as possible) before meeting, find the right girl/woman, irrespective of country.  From my own experience, with those that I had communications with, I don't recall anyone from Ukraine ever keeping my interest, but that may well just have been the luck of the draw.  My own travels took me ultimately to BY, with ironically perhaps the most obnoxious of the Visa requirements, where I did notice some difference between her and her family to some few from Russia I knew reasonably well, but not enough to assume it was cultural instead of individual.  I did not see many westerners in the airport, nor in general in BY, especially once outside of Minsk.  We weren't doing the nightclub circuits, and while I did run into one western guy with either his wife or wife to be in Germany, who I believe came from Minsk, we very rarely saw any foreigners outside of Minsk; even those were mostly limited to businessmen.  My other half does have a friend from Ukraine (not one of the bigger cities), and she seems relatively normal, but then again, one tends to associate with those more similar than different more often than not.

Of course, if someone were planning on going to VM, or just as a vacation with some "searching" as a diversion or secondary part, that might change the results of where to visit.  Ski brought up a good point about many Moscow natives  being far better off, so perhaps less of a chance of wanting/needing to get "out."  For me, not living in a larger US city, it's just not a natural fit, as well as several FSU folks I do respect generally not liking Moscow too much, would probably have put me off of such a course if I had been inclined, but it might be a good enough option for others.

If there wasn't a three-choice cap I would have voted for at least Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and the stans, if not the entire FSU, or even all the countries of the former Warsaw Pact.

the poll asked where men should search for an FSUW, not where they actually search.  Perhaps a number went to Ukraine (or elsewhere) and later realized that they should have gone to Russia.
