New trend in Serbia-marrying Albanian women

My mother passed away 2 weeks ago and i was in Serbia for the funeral. Some of the farmers in the area have been unable to find any girls to marry and they are going to northern Albania, where, they say, there are many unmarried girls over 25 years of age. Since they are predominantly muslim, their "marriage" is basically a form of slavery as i understood it. They pay for a bride and take them back to Serbia. I also met one couple, and to my surprise, that Albanian woman (her name still escapes me) is actually happy to be in Serbia, to have found a warm home. I guess northern Albania is a hellish place, tribal and very undeveloped. But what is the most surprising thing, is that Serbia had a recent war with Albanians over Kosovo, and still, when it comes to creating family they both agree that it should transcend any borders.

Many ladies in Northern Albania are from families that may have lived in Yugoslavia ( as was) and speak the lingo and even miss home..

Could that be one explanation ?

Just found out a few weeks ago that those girls from Albania are actually whats left of the Serbian population around the city of Skadar (Scoder in Albanian), and they are being forcibly "albanized" so one of the escape routes is to marry in Serbia. Their life has never been easy down there (albania was one small closed communist-stalinist country).
