The listening antennae area near Chernobyl is worth adding.

In Croatia I went into the Soviet submarine base dug into the cliffs. I think the Russian's had to 'abandon' this as Tito moved to a more neutral point.

EDIT: Most of the sub bases were built in the 2nd World War, by the Germans. Here is an interesting link to Submarine bases and some history of submarines.
