Title: Bags packed waiting on the border!
Post by: Steveboy on April 17, 2016, 06:39:19 AM
When Romania joined the Eu and the people of Romania were allowed to visit/work or what ever in the EU they had their bags packed and were sat at the border 11.59 ready to leave the following day :)

Looks like the EU has stuck its finger up to Holland as end of July Ukraine has visa free travel to Europe, you can be sure millions will go missing or get lost in the EU the following day along with millions of Turks.

I remember living in Portsmouth several streets were full of kabab shops everyone knowing they employed illegals who lived up stairs. Often they would get raided by the police. Looks like half of Ukraine will now get "lost" during their visit to the EU

Its funny how the EU a shinning example of democracy and standards can even contemplate dealing with Ukraine or Turkey..

But then I guess it all comes down to  :money:

It means 2 things for the Ukrainian dating industry,

1. Cheapo guys with not so much cash will be able to offer OLDER Ukrainian women a ticket to come visit him in Europe saving on costs.. (Of course the women will not say no)

2. Young guys searching for a young Ukrainian women , those days are finished for sure. Most young women only wish to travel, now thats possible who needs some old fart to travel with.

It is not just Ukraine.  By June Turkish Citizens will be allowed Visa free travel to Schengen countries -

http://www.schengenvisainfo.com/turkey-visa-free-travel-schengen/ (http://www.schengenvisainfo.com/turkey-visa-free-travel-schengen/)

This will happen because if it does not then expect 250K migrants exporting themselves to the EU in July...

There is another big crisis just waiting to happen! You have all the Oil rich countries, Saudi , Jordan, UA, Kuwait to name a few!

What do they produce? Oil.. Camel markets and camel shit!  So sometime in the not to distant future there will be no demand for oil , sometime in the future oil will just be old fashioned just like a Russian marriage agency. No body will need it.

So when the oil dries up , who wants to buy camels and camel shit?? Nobody!! Do these countries have any other industries? Of course not.

So where will millions of folk be heading?

Yes you got it.. The EU  :chuckle: Probably camel shit included..

Steveboy, that was the 'fear' ... the reality was somewhat different .. The Romanians and Bulgarians had special restrictions put on them by several EU states - incl. the UK - they needed work permits and couldn't just tip up and claim benefits.. I well remember the news channels waiting and being disappointed...

Not only that, but it seems Ukrainians asked for Asylum in Netherlands, got denied and were sent home with $2500 travel costs. Seems that was more than what they were paid, so their numbers swelled until the Netherlands scrapped this arrangement for Ukraine.

It would be interesting to know from where and whom they were seeking asylum in Ukraine and the percentage granted

Themselves, and denied 100% as Netherlands said Ukraine is a safe country to live in.

The problem is :
Evgeny earns $2000/year. The sending-home money is Eur-2500....

So, if he is frugal with travel-costs, he can earn a whole year-salary in 2-3 weeks work.
(until NL wised up and reduced the travel-cost bonus for Ukr. people.)

Im glad Im out of the EU.. The UK has changed considerably over the last 10 years even. Were visiting London next month and I'm already not looking forward to it. London is not the place it used to be :(

10/20 years its just going to be a flea pit, only the wealthy will live there who can afford a gated or secure accommodation. Anyone else with just have to live in the hell hole, it will be like the city in the classic movie "Blade Runner"

I think the best option today is to live in International waters on a small island or a nice big boat away from all the shit that goes on in this planet :travel:

Well first, you quote the governments lefty propaganda channel.  (:)

Even if it were true, that only refers to "workers" who are registered. Most work black and/or claim benefits.

As we know from experience with the Polish, you can generally double or even quadruple any number given out by the government. The truth is they don't know how many are here. And don't pretend you don't know that.

They did not, nothing other than a register was implemented, where they were required to register for their first 12 months stay, this was from 2004, when Bulgaria and Romania joined in 2007, the register had long been abandoned.

The government really did not know, this is correct, only EU workers new to the country, and working for a company were required to register, those working for agencies were not required to register.

Many companies used this and took workers only from agencies, as it was the cheapest option..

EU workers who could prove that they were doing legal work were entitled to the same Social benefits as UK workers.

There was a time from 2007-2010 when I knew more about accession rights than Cypriot , Irish and British Immigration control employees.... I have the letters from all three to prove it...

Rather than posting nonsense - tell us I'm wrong about the restrictions on the right to seek work placed on Romanians and Bulgarians for 7 years...

One would presume that your knowledge of accession rights related mainly to the bring into the UK a foreign spouse under the EU ruling which you used, which I would suggest is a little bit different to the rights of EU subjects to enter and work in the UK..

I cannot comment upon what restrictions Bulgaria and Romanians faced, I can only comment upon my own experiences with workers from the EU.
From 2004 onwards, EU subjects (Less the 2 aforementioned countries subjects),  were in plentiful supply and as stated, apart from the, at the time, National EU workers register, (which few actually used/took notice of), there were NO restrictions placed on to them regarding work.

From 2007, Bulgarians and Romanians joined into the fray...But, by then, the register had been discontinued.

Were there restrictions in place on them working in the UK? Yes, of course they were.
Did they need work permits, as you have said? No, they didn't.

Romania / Bulgarians - instead of telling us I'm an 'ass'... kindly tell us - was there restrictions places on these nationals - by the UK - re working until 2014 - YES or NO...?
