Title: Fourteenth Anniversary !

Married 14 years now. Time is flying by.  No celebration yet because I am in Saudi and Nataliya is home in Turkey.  We will go out for a quiet dinner when I get home next week.  Wes and Lora (MBS01),  Richard and Valya(RVRWind) celebrate the same anniversary around now.  Congratulations!

Nataliya informs me that the traditional gift for 14 years is Ivory. 

Don't think she wants a pair of elephant tusks to decorate the hall  :laugh: 

More likely a Bluthner Grand piano!

Who would have thought, all those years back, when some people who were giving you advice .... and doubting your chances of success...... would have been so wrong ?

I haven't got a clue where we're up to now!

Mind you, I've started to walking into rooms and then say to myself "What did I come in here for?"

Also I save interesting sticks from the garden in case they come in useful....

I certainly don't agree with you on many things, but happily concede that a couple still happily married is defo doing the most important thing, correctly  :bow:

Thanks for all the good wishes.  As time passes by fewer and fewer guys from my "generation" (late nineties to early noughties) are still posting.

Wizz, I remember the detractors very well - perhaps the most voluble was a guy, JB.  Over the years we became friendly but I have lost touch now.  He lives in Corpus Christie so I hope he survived the recent Texas hurricane.

Avey, I have not been married all these years and remained oblivious to my wife's "suggestions".  She is a professional musician on Violin and teaches Piano.  Problem is that grand pianos are like hens teeth here in Turkey and I remember the nightmare of importing her upright piano which ended  in a two year legal battle and payment of a $4000 insurance claim...

Life is good.  I am in the Middle East more than I would like but clients are spending money.  Time for some serious vacations next year.  :thumbsup:

Slow night and just reading here too.  It is interesting reading your last post Leslie to note both our ladies currently teach piano in their new lands.  Lora by profession graduated as a Choral Conductor and later worked as Music Director for Radio and TV before moving to Canada.  Arts seem to run in the family as one cousin is a member of the Emmy winning Moscow Soloists while his brother plays in a band in Macau.  Another cousin is well know in Theatre and Film in Russia as well.

Anyway seems time continues to fly for us all.  So all the best to all those couples also celebrating 14 or so years together.
