Title: Ukraine collapes???
Post by: Texan77 on February 13, 2017, 06:17:50 PM

Ukraine will collapse in 2017, NATO will not help

http://www.pravdareport.com/news/world/ussr/ukraine/13-02-2017/136848-ukraine_collapse-0/

From what I am reading this is very possible. I can not post link because the page below is not on line.

Ever since Greece defaulted two years ago there have been worries that it would have to leave the euro, then so would Italy, and Italy is simply too big to fail or bail out.

It is in July that Greece has major debt payments due to the IMF and ECB. They will not be able to make them as usual, and 53% of Greeks think they should leave the euro. So, there will be tense renegotiations.

But the real crisis will come when the Greek default leads Italy to consider whether to leave the euro, and devalue and default on its own massive amounts of foreign debt. 47% of Italians are against the euro (and only 43% are for it) and Renzi’s loss of the recent referendum paves the way for that possibility. The French also are rapidly turning against the euro (41% against) under the campaign of Marine Le Pen, the rising far-right candidate.

If Italy and Greece leave it would leave German banks holding the bag on some very large bad debt.

Germany’s total Target 2 exposure to southern Europe is a record 740 billion euros. Germany’s central bank has been floating its trading partners to keep its export machine going. Wait until they get the defaults to pay for that.

The US is going to have its own problems this summer. So who is going to want to fight the Russians? Hint, ( No one. )

The really biggest problem can the Russia afford eastern Ukraine. People talk about poverty in Ukraine well this is where it is the most. A lot of retires who all want pensions. No body want to pay taxes to any government. Will Russia really want it????  Remember we are talking about twenty million people and everybody with any money will have already left. Then there is the really big gas bill and neglected infrastructure on top of the war damage.

Russia has been explicit on this point. Donbass is part of Ukraine, not Russia.

Will Ukraine collapse further? Yes, that's a given.

In point of fact Donbass was, and can be again, a very productive region. The problem the area faced was wealth extraction - business profits were not retained in the area. Tax revenues were not adequately recycled to the region. Wages were low and there was underinvestment in civil infrastructure.

The United states and the EU, have kept Ukraine afloat, for quite awhile.
Without the handouts Ukraine would already crashed.
It's difficult to say how well Ukraine might have done had they worked as hard to control corruption, as they have playing the victim of Russian aggression.

I think one of the best strategies Ukraine could of done is to recognized Donbas as independent country as they claimed to be. It is very hard to call it part of the Ukraine as when they travel they travel with Russian passports, they use Russian currency, they are only connected to Russian TV, they use Russian school books, they only used the Russian language, they get there gas provide by Russia, they pay no taxes to Ukraine and receive no benefits from Ukraine. Other than the map how can you say Donbas is part of Ukraine?

Before they did, it was Russia that kept it afloat. I'm sure they don't mind passing the buck to EU/USA for a while.

Texan77, do you practice this stuff before writing?

You do know that Donbass is a region of Ukraine, yes?
If unsure ask the pravy sektor bird you sponsor, she'll set you straight.

Secondly, you attribute to me status that I certainly do not claim. I have not been awarded plenipontentiary status by the Head of state of the Russian Federation and can not speak or make choices on behalf of the state and people of the Russian Federation. I merely noted the stated position of the Russian State and government.

Andy - you sound like Nicola Sturgeon!  :)

Rosco, whilst I know that you were not entirely serious, I'd hate for our colonial cousins to get the wrong idea and have them thinking that Scotland is in anyway comparable to Donbass. :)

Some bits of Scotland may have some issues but the worst of them would seem as an earthly paradise in comparison to pretty much any bit of Ukraine. :)

Actually, many aspects of Scotland seem rather paradisiacal to we lowlanders. :)

Texan77, you really do get fed some shit by your Right Sector girlfriend don't you?

Do you not understand that the Minsk Accord, to which the LPR/DPR are signatories, EXPLICITLY makes clear that the region IS a part of Ukraine?

Over here in civilisation we are aware of the USAian 'no child left behind' policy and how it, in truth, it actually means dumbing everybody down to the lowest level. I take it that you, given your age, were part of some early pilot project?

I do believe he speaks, reads and writes like most southerners who only went to public school.

I can force myself to be fully in that mind frame if need arises, as well as the accent.  :)

What they explicitly claim in theory and what's done in practice seem quite different.  :smokin:

Now that is sheer nonsense. You really should visit Ukraine before making such odious comments.

Confederate, Russia has made it clear that they want no part of LPR/DPR. The RUssian economy isn't up to the job. Not only that but there's no legal basis for such a situation.

Some in the LPR/DPR want independence, some want to be part of Russia and some want to be part of Ukraine. There is not anything close to unanimity on this issue. What they do, on the whole, want is to have the Kievan hordes stop trying to kill them and they will settle for whatever outcome gives that result.

The lack of unanimity is one of the reasons why Russia have no legal claim on the territory. The grounds upon which Crimea returned to Russia could not be applied in the LPR/DPR case.

The leaders of the LPR/DPR do not even have unanimity on this issue. All have signed up to agreement with Minsk 2 which is explicit in respect of the relationship between the DPR/LPR and the rest of Ukraine. At the same time the same people at the top will *happily* tell you that they have no expectation that the Minsk Agreement will ever be implemented by the Kievans rendering the issues of re-integration into Ukraine moot. Unless rump Ukraine implements Minsk 2 as they signed up to do then the region can not be re-integrated. To that degree, the Kievan regime has already made its choice and desires clear.

Dogsoldier, I did not realise that you thought Scotland such an inhospitable place. Which parts of Scotland do you consider to be even worse than your favourite bits of Ukraine. Bear in mind I am NOT referring to the scenery. Think hard here because there's not many people in Ukraine who can be said to be doing as well as 'poor' people in Scotland. :)

I think the most deprived areas is Scotland , in Glasgow, for example, would fare far worse than poor areas in Ukraine. Many people in Ukraine may be 'poor' but I would rate their quality of life better than the 'poor' in the most deprived areas of Scotland. (Poor, of course, being a relative term)

Perhaps FiFi should travel around Scotland first?
