Even Krasnoyarsk - which can have -40C - had real Palm Trees . They were re planted during the summer :coffeeread:
If you want REAL Palm tress - that don't need taking inside for winter ... only Sochi ... has the micro-climate...They are everywhere, lining the streets...it's a little like Miami in parts ... I DID say a little :chuckle:

Sochi, im truly shocked.
Would love me a dacha somewhere in Kamchatka for the summer months though it must be said. The question is how can i get in on that 1 hectacre of land that Putin is giving away :p. gonna have to hire someone to "work the land" in my stead while im gone lol.

Venice is a place I always want to visit... again and again...
Amsterdam is the only city where I would love to live.

I "live" in Kirov (albeit on a very generous tourist visa) but may move next year to Adler, which is part of Sochi. I'm from Houston, the Land of Never Winter, so the Russian Black Sea definitely suits my body more ;). Although I am getting more use to the long Kirov winters. Traveling for part of the winter helps ;). As well as being home in Houston for much of the holidays (before New Years!). But, my body is also getting more use to it, too. Nevertheless the Russian Black Sea would be much better ;). We will take a trip this January there for the 1st time to see how it is, tickets and accommodation already booked. Shes been there already and likes it but I need to see how I feel first before making a decision. But, I think I already know the answer ;).

Why are people saying London isn't a nice place to live and is dangerous after 6? London is fine, if you get into trouble it is most likely your attitude.
If I had that attitude in St. Petes or Moscow or Jo'burg, I wouldn't last.
