That's a shameless bit of link dropping , Ed.  :)

Merry Christmas to all here.

We have a six year old who is just starting to get suspicious about the existence of Santa. She is too sharp and asks too many questions. The easy ones about how Santa is too fat to get down our chimney are easily answered by an elf doing it and letting him in the front door. Tonight she was looking at a map on my wall and asking which countries Santa does first, due to time differences. So we discussed time zones a little, and I suggested he does the east of Russia first before moving across Europe. Ireland last, America and Canada next as they are quite a few hours behind us.

She thought about this for a while, and then said, "No, you're wrong, because the Santa that does Russia has a blue coat and ours has a red one". I got out of that one as I explained that Russia is so big he needs help there........

We'll be lucky to get another Christmas with her believing in Father Christmas. But while she does, its a magical time. Amazing to watch how excited they are.

Manny you need to do some home work.
Maybe this will help a little, he does travel quick.

Remember Santa also uses magic, the Chimney adjusts to his size.
House's without chimney's have one with his magic.
I have read your stuff, really put your imagination to work.
Its like telling a story, if all else fails, remind your daughter,
Santa does not come to those who do not believe :)
Most 6 year olds are smart enough not to risk it

When my mother told me there was no Santa I said to her, "Why did you lie to me?"  I was about 6

This blue coat Santa looks Mongolian! :)
My wife also did the Elf thing this year for the first time. The funny thing is that both my 6 yo and 9 yo totally believed that the Elf was real and moved on her own! My wife had a goot time with this!

Well done, Ed..

and as for kids being sharp... I got 'caught' dressed up as Santa - hanging the 7 year old doubting daughter's Christmas stockings - over the end of her bed...  the light was dim..

I blew her a kiss- put my fingers to my lips to stay quiet..not to wake her sister and ran to bed...ripping off the beard and hat..

Just got settled, when she opened our door and checked I was sound asleep.... we had put icing sugar foot-steps on the stairs that led to the fire-place in the lounge and she was heard tip-toeing downstairs to see if the Whiskey and mince pies were consumed.. one more check to see if we were still asleep and a 'close call' avoided...

Just finished opening the presents.  We could not maintain the Santa Claus fiction.  Our eldest, Tamara rumbled that I was "Daddy Christmas" when she was five.  Of course she spilled the beans to her younger sister, so Isla has never believed in Santa...

Being with my family shows that all the effort was worth it.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

A Merry Berry Christmas, enjoy the Egg Nog and for those married stay clear of the mistletoe.

For those single, well it depends if you are naughty or good.

A big Aussie greetings to you all as well.
I spent yesterday on the Ambulances, but we still had a fun day. I got to stop in and watch my son open his presents, and all the public we came into contact with were kind and grateful. Local Fire station invited us for lunch but we were too busy to attend on time. Thankfully they saved us the most important part of an Aussie Christmas lunch....the Pavolva!
Happy Christmas one and all
