Unless certain people take careful steps ten years is waaaay too optimistic. From what I am reading of Russian media it seems that the Russian military is becoming less content with their current passive posture in respect of ongoing threats and attacks. Mr. Putin might find that he is unable to resist their arguments. That's how we end up sleepwalking into war.
On the upside, at least in Russian mainstream media, there's plenty of commentary and discussion of the global situation and the real closeness to war. That does not seem to be the case in the United States or the United Kingdom. Hopefully, our news/entertainment media will take some freedom to themselves and start to open a discussion about what is really going on. A couple of dead guinea pigs is not the most important thing right now.

Is it your new route to slide your women into the EU? :chuckle:
Better to come through at Narva and watch some NATO/Estonian aggression in action.

I am quite aware of the unwise actions of Estonia and Latvia re Ethic Russians...
If you recall I helped Russians in Cyprus get ID cards...Latvia tried to point out they should be revoked on the basis they were non citizens.. I won a climd down and those effected were allowed to remain in CY under the very Directive I 'slipped my women in.
Unlike your contacts....I have actually achieved success and got letters from Cyprus, Ireland, UK and Latvia apologising from lax implementation of EU immigration law.
I know you enjoyed reading my road trip...

I have crossed into Finland from Russia many times at several points.. That no mans land is a little like the areas around Transnistria there is always a hedge to climb under should your entry into Russia be refused ...

I crossed in the sort of snow they pretend in the movies - couldn't see very far and VERY few folks were crossing as it was such a miserable day. I don't think they make Vauxhalls with stealth mode ;)
