Title: Only in Russia ? :chuckle:
Post by: msmoby on November 10, 2015, 03:17:59 AM
I have mentioned the dreaded 'Evakuator' on Russia's streets, before...

It's the flat-bed truck with a crane that cruises the city streets - following the Police and will have a car loaded in less than 30 secs..

Sometimes so many are following the Police car that they cause traffic jams when they double park in streets - awaiting business or while one of their 'siblings' collects a new victim  :chuckle:

SC returned home on Monday evening to find said 'Evakuators' were blocking the one-way street on which she lives - collecting 'victims' and people were running from their apartments to move their cars - not knowing WHY they were now parking, illegally  ???

Apparently, a new clearway sign had been put up at the beginning of the street - and the next day - the Evakuators came.....

SC parked 1km from home and found her plastic wheel trims were missing this morning....

She had to go to the Ford garage - minor fault with wiper system on new car - who told her it was 'dangeous' for her not to have wheel trims... Luckily, she called me from  the garage and the parts guy had to face Moby in the sack on Skype - asking if he could tell me -straight faced  - that missing wheels trims were dangerous... he admitted they were asthetic.  :coffeeread:

Can one buy whel trims that are 'lockable' / make it harder for the casual petty thief to nick  ?

Cable ties normally do the job. Also stops the ever likely occurrence over time of them spinning loose and leaving the wheel while the car is motion.

Thanks for responding - I guess they might stop the drunken lepton-maniac - but hardly the determined tea leaf  :chuckle:
