Travelling to Tallinn right now, sitting in the Escape Lounge while I wait for my flight.
Eating a fresh Danish while I wait for my sausage bap.
Nice people, quiet comfortable surroundings a world away from the main air side areas packed with the travelling poor.
Cost for this little slice of civilisation in a crass, crowded world was just £18.50. I can't imagine not doing this in future.
In addition I added a few other luxuries to make my flight more pleasant. I had fast track security, priority boarding, a decent seat and, of course, a checked bag.
Improvements?
Showers, massage.
But this is cheap flights done right.

The diet was holed below the waterline over the past few weeks. I might write about it later, the story might be of more general interest.
However whilst I put on some weight I have also been working the gym hard and made some shape changes.
Now the diet starts again.
The pittance spent on the lounge transformed the experience though. When I was ready I left the peace of the lounge and reentered the Bear garden. At Stansted one takes a driverless shuttle to the gates. At the end is a short walk to the departure gate where there's two queues for Ryanair flights: Proles and Proper People. In truth there's one. The Proper People don't need to queue. So, that's nice. Of course there's a short wait to actually board the plane.
Having chosen one's own seat one can be pretty sure to have a spare seat on the row - one chooses a single seat on an otherwise empty row or chooses a seat where there's already one single passenger located. It doesn't always work that way, but, again it did today. That makes the seating pretty comfy although I doubt that I'd want to fly Ryanair across the Atlantic. ;)

Im just praying for the day I can travel business class here and there, sit in a nice lounge, have shower before I board. We always said we will fly business class or first class some time , just never got round to it.. I don't like parting with money..
But one day..

I flew aeroflot business class this time. Although nice it wasnt worth triple regular price for me

My trip cost less than scheduled air, was direct, from a convenient Airport and was a very pleasant experience all round.
On the basis of today's jaunt I'd say that for short trips, in comfort terms, business class would be a waste of money. The only downer for me was the early start but then here I am, back in the office from early afternoon.

Ryanair have not had a penny from me since I booked a flight from Prestwick to Barcelona in Sept 12
Went to print out the boarding pass -right after booking and was told too late...
Had to pay [approx 100 usd] at check-in
If you have luggage - it is so often cheaper to fly with airlines that do not charge for hold baggage

That's sad for you, although I am entirely unsure as to the veracity of your claim.
My guess though is that you'd be hard pressed to have travelled as I did this morning for anything remotely similar in price through a high cost airline. Of course one can add the extra bits and further increase the price of your high priced ticket, but I do know that there was not a more convenient Airport or routing from a high price carrier. So, all things being equal one would pay more for a less convenient departure and very likely a much longer journey.
I have never been a big advocate of cutting off my nose to spite my face. But yes, if, for example, Lufthansa flew direct from Stansted to Tallinn with an early morning departure for £170 in business class then I'd probably go for it. But they don't. :)

Standsted is sooooooo far away ... It took me 6 hours to get down to Dorset last week from Heathrow. Its the worst part about visiting the UK. No roads just farm tracks down this part of the country let alone an airport :(

Depends where you are though. For me it is a good option, the best available and an easy quick drive.

Only a few small regional airports here , nearest is Exeter not a lot of choice...
Other than that its a horse and cart.. ;D
