Title: What Ukrainian TV channel would carry the race on Sunday?
Post by: GuppyCaptain on October 08, 2015, 06:36:04 AM
Temp might drop below 20C soon in Sochi.... BIG SHOCK ifcthey had frost !)

.

How's the city now with F1 weekend coming up? Crazy? I don't suppose anyone would know what Ukrainian TV channel would carry the race on Sunday? Missing a race is NOT an option.

When I'm done with my trip, I need to rush back to Texas to meet my Dad for the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin.   ;D

GuppyCaptain...where are you in Ukraine?  I am on a mobile....If you're in Kiev..O' Brien's have UK SKY... and therefore F1 in English.

If you are stuck..I give you a trial account for UK TV to watch it.

I'll be in Khakiv from about the 11th-21st. I'm sure some station will be televising the race. At least I hope.

Hey, bolshoy spasibo, Moby. I have a recording set on the DVR at home, but if I end up going to the Texas GP directly from Ukraine, well there won't be any suspense in watching it.  tiphat

Anyway.....Moby, I found a touristy restaurant/bar that brews their own beer in Kharkov on the square that was able to get the Sochi GP on its TV. It was only televised on a Russian channel.

Great

I only just watched it - I've been sailing all day and didn't view your response  - in case you told me the result  :chuckle:

If you saw the mountains to the south - already had a covering of snow - that was 'Abkhazia' / Georgia .. the Olympic  Park is on the north side of a River - the south side is the other nation - Sochi airport is in the valley... only 2 km distant from the circuit.

Did you notice that President Putin was awarding more than one prize - not seen before - and that before the race - he kept appearing in shots  ?

He was even there with his translators and security men to meet the winning drivers in the pre prize presentation room - also a first... normally, the drivers just  to chat about the race

They were given Pirelli Ushankas .. and had a good laugh....

Well done fellow countryman -  Richard Cregan - for organising a brilliant event.

The Russian lasses looked great in traditional dress and the national anthem - was sung with passion.

Sochi is now firmly on the GP scene and may host the first day / night race in 2017.
