Cobra Gold has been held in Thailand for decades,nothing new. I participated in it several times before I retired from the Navy.

Cobra Gold has been going on since 1982, annually

It kicked off near were we stay in Thailand - at the HQ of their Marine base ... not exactly the S.China Sea and none of nations participating have disputes with China over their daft claim to the Spratley Islands ... pure bullying on the part of Beijing...  It's all about the potential oil / gas reserves .... China's claim is totally bogus.

Me, I'm far more worried about N.Korea - for now  - bumping  off the older brother, in Malaysia - mental..

Now it's reckoned that N.Korean operatives made the murder a TV 'dare' show ruse - a lady being paid 90 USD to rub oil in the face of the wack job leader's old bro ..  It seems it was really a nerve agent !
