Mendy.... really glad you found the time to post all of this info, great stuff.

Funny enough, last week at my hotel I had a guest from Russia staying with us and he was from Vladivostok... thanks to your info I wound up having a great convo with him.

I'm trying to convince my lady of interest to take a trip there with me.... oddly enough I feel like I'm trying to convince an American on getting excited to visit Cleveland, while taking a seriously slow and long Amtrack ride.... not going to be an easy argument to win :)

I can't imagine that it would be exciting for her unless she has ties to the area with relatives, close friends, etc.

One caution: most of these ladies believe that their city and region is very important and historic and in most cases they're right. Until you know her it could be an irritation to wish to travel somewhere else when she is anxious to use your limited time showing you her city and introducing you to her friends, etc. If you've got history together that is one thing, but otherwise you might wish to allow her to play hostess in her own way at first.

I understand.... I'm making plans for another trip to go out and see Japan in September. I'll be up in Sapporo which is a short jump to Vlad. so I thought I'd meet up with her in the world famous city on the sea.... the Monaco of the Pacific

ANR,

Didn't you say she was from Moscow?  That is a 7 day train ride each way.  Not expensive, but MOST women would rather spend time with their men . . . not on a train.

IMHO.

I know it's not close but a plane trip isn't too pricey and it's not too long... being able to meet up on the east coast of Russia is better then not being able to meet up at all :)

That's a LONG flight.  I love to fly, but a bus with wings is NOT fun.

If a girl wanted me to fly from Moscow to Vladivostok, she had better have the key to my heart.

Trust me... her and I are on a level where it wouldn't be out of the question for me to ask her to fly such a distance... especially to Vladv. of all places :)

Nice photos Oxu

FWIW I've braved Vladivostok on multiple occasions and have lived to tell the tale. However I wouldn't suggest many of our current crop of bride seeking RUA scribers will get much further east than Kharkov :)

I have many fond memories of the area and its a shame that we haven't been able to get back there recently, its now over 2 years since the last time I visited. Tanya hasn't been there since summer 2009 either, so we are long overdue a visit, hopefully next year.

I'll try and dig out a few of my photos over the weekend!
If you get a minute check out Bruce's TR - Its not quite finished, however its still a pretty good read IMHO.

If I win the lottery I'll finish it this week if not I'll probably complete it when I retire!!! Until then I hope you enjoy the story so far!
