« on: August 06, 2009, 03:02:06 PM »

I am sure she will come along and settle the riddle.

By the way this is what I say to get Georgian's to become our
friends on MySpace. Maybe she can help me there too. I doubt
that I am saying it correctly

It's Georgian. It is a wish of good to someone she loves. Or can be said when in search of love.
1) "I wish to spend days like this... and life to be named your name."
2) Good luck to your MySpace (lliterally, let your MySpace be kind)
How are you
I don't know Georgia
I wish you success - that is yes, it does make sence. At least the same which you internded to translate from English. I wouldn't say your Myspace though  :P

LOL, I knew that I wouldn't get it right, maybe you can suggest some better phrasing?

12 Georgian girls joined our MySpace friends list in the last 24 hours. (My goofy letter) We had maybe 10 or so previously. I would love to convince a few of them to come here
to get their perspective on things, maybe have a Georgian room, and get a recipe or
two, some photos of the Georgian mountains with some narrative etc.

Whew! I'm glad we got that straightened out...My translation came out to "You've just drove the car up the flag pole. Have a successful space flight." :duh: - just kidding. :chuckle:

I Googled some common Georgian phrases found a few sites and cobbled
together a few phrases, which usually results in women showing up
with torches wanting to burn me alive in the castle (think of an old Frankenstein
movie)

The funniest thing about MySpace is that 75 percent of the people from the
"Republic of Georgia" are huge women from Atlanta who couldn't find Georgia
on a Globe in under an hour.

It's the biggest difficulty about Georgia :-)) Whenever I make a search in internet I write Tbilisi and don't write Georgia. Even if to put Tbilisi together with Georgia the search will give our US state information mostly with rare exeptions.

What about re-phrasing - I am not good in Georgian unfortunately :( I can translate Georgian-Russian, but not Russian-Georgian. You better leave it as it is :-) It's not perfectly worded but good enough :-)

It's an unusual language, gutteral in it's pronunciation and separate words (spoken) are strung together.  I found what I thought to be single words were infact entire sentences.

Yeah, if I'm not careful, things I'm sending will go south to 'the state of' as well.

I will leave the first one alone, but
How is your English-Georgian?
