What would you do or what did you do?
« on: May 18, 2009, 11:14:26 AM »
A few guys bravely or crAziLy have their wife / girl friend join here
read every thread and participate in the forum. What did you do?
What will you do? What is her interest level? Did you have to explain
your post about blond hair, or big breasts or something else?

spasibo   (thank you)

Okay, I have a complaint--after the obligatory "Bill is an idiot" vote, that left only 2 options. What gives? Are you trying to suppress democracy?   :chuckle:     ;D

On a slightly more serious note, I hope not to post anything that would reflect badly on her or make her feel embarrassed.

Those are my 3, I told her about this place long before we got married, she reads most days but does not participate, she also reads one or two other forums from time to time, but does not post.

Before we were married I wrote a long detailed TR about how we met and what happened etc, she loved it and was very surprised I went to the trouble of putting our meeting down in words, so extra brownie points for that. Since then she has made the odd comment but not about anything I have wrote.

I do know guys who have asked forum management (not here) to delete some of their posts once they have met their future wife, but I think the three votes/options above is how I would recommend to others to act, so as not to create problems later.

How you will explain away all the pictures of hot babes to your future spouse,  I would like to know Bill  :chuckle:

I can only imagine explaining various things that I posted that
can come back to haunt me, for example I implied that a shower
may be a precursor to getting lucky. Could that be somehow linked
to her? or worse yet did I learn this somewhere else?

so far she has expressed very close to zero interest in this forum with
the exception to make sure that it wasn't a forum to chase RW at.

I am not going to worry about it, I will either catch hell or I won't.
I don't think that I offended any of the RW here too badly (maybe a I went
too far in the bad jokes once or twice) my GF seems to like my warped humor.

I know that most RW wife / girl friends don't post so I thought a little poll
might bring out a thing or two

I voted Deny everything .What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.( Highly over used IMO ) And forum what forum ?
My friends don't know about me being here, so why the hell would I tell any girl about this place. I'd have a ship load of explaining to do ,and I'm never going to be inclinded to do that :evilgrin0002:

How many men here have successfully hid a secret from their better halves for an extended period of time?

How many men here only think they have successfully hidden a secret from their better halves for an extended period of time?  :chuckle:

She'll find out eventually, and when she does, there goes a good portion of any trust that she may have had in you,.. believe me, that SUCKS.

Being able to trust someone, and be trusted by them, is a big deal to me,.. my only regret is not telling Ada sooner about this site.

Well, if you take a chaptor from the 'How To Teach English Culture Wrong' book, just tell her it's considered good luck to shower before buying a lottery ticket.  :-\ ;D

Au contraire, mon ami, she reads. Long after these forums are dust and you're using a walker to navigate the Bingo Hall in your retirement, she will be able to quote you verbatum (with date and time), a mid paragraph sentence you once posted back in '09... :P

I told Mila about the forum, she's seen it a little bit, and we even used the Chat feature a couple times to chat way back when she was still in Penza.  I don't know if she signed up, or if she ever reads anymore.  Once in awhile I will tell her what "idiotic poll Bill started", or what post I was interested in or perhaps if I posted a picture.  Other than that she stays on her Livejournal for her friends there and I stick to my forums and Facebook for the most part.  And we both show each other what we posted or did or are talking about.  Really it is all about communication and getting to know one another, if you are one person to her and another in this forum then you have issues.  I don't have that issue and have nothing to hide.

Look, we're gonna spend half the night driving around the Hills looking for this one party and you're going to say it sucks and we're all gonna leave and then we're gonna go look for this other party. But all the parties and all the bars, they all suck. <-Same goes for forums!

I would have to rethink all of this knowing now that some male board members have an inability to STFU  ::)

Yeah, I remember there is always one jackass in every crowd.
I wouldn't take back anything anyway except for an insult or two
that I later apologized for.

I have decided to not worry about it. I will either get into trouble for my
past or I wont. I will still tell off color jokes, push the envelope and sometimes
go too far, give guys advice if they ask for it and sometimes if they don't. I will
occasionally say something that I will regret later.

I know that I will get into a little trouble for the Myspace page but I never
pursued any of them and I am completely innocent (which is no excuse)

sorry for the long ramble  ;D

or say how much you like the forum here and hope that some
of RUA friends will join in, something like that would be nice  ;D
