If you will pay me 30,000 dollars, I will come do it.

I know you blokes get a big luggage allowance, but can you get a few tons of block in your cases?  ;D

(Actually, I once saw Shakey emerge from the airport in Estonia with more luggage than a rock band might take on tour).
I would buy brick local LOL.
Out of curiosity what does the average skill person make per hour?

Tarmac=Asphalt?

Tarmac is used here by those not in the trade here as a cover-all noun. The same way as people say Hoover to denote any vacuum cleaner or Coke to denote any Cola. All may be brands, but they have passed into common usage enough they are used as nouns. Asphalt seems to be the word used instead of tarmac in the US. All you guys use asphalt that I heard anyway.

Quote
Well, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee
It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie
We laid rubber on the Georgia asphalt
We got a little crazy but we never got caught.

I assume blacktop is the same stuff?

Here it is Asphalt, some of the old guys will say black top. terminology
Only place here I have ever heard term tarmac used is at airports.
To be honest, not sure why.
Paving is very common also, meaning paving with asphalt, not to be confused with pavers.
With are the concrete blocks used in one of the pics.

My good stone wall man is on £210 a day. I do know a £70 a day man but the work differs. I have examples of both at home here.

£70 a day buys you this.

That is absolutely true.

In my defense, there were two bags total; one of which was golf clubs which we BOTH used the next day.

Both bags were on rollers which I think you will agree didn't slow us up one bit at the airport.

I just recall this huge mound of stuff on wheels, enough for like 5 people, and behind it somewhere was you.  :chuckle:

A couple of years ago we did a family trip to FL in big boys seats on American Airlines. When I sat and read the luggage allowances in the US, I bought brake discs [rotors] all round and pads for wifeys Chrysler, and loads of other crap at low $ to resell. I arrived back at the airport a with a Chevy Suburban rammed to the roof. What is great there was some black guy popped out of the shadows, unloaded all the stuff, took it to the gate on a truck. I paid him maybe $10 or something. I probably saved $200 import duty and another $200 over UK retail bringing all that crap back as "luggage".

Business Class on most airlines allow generous baggage allowances.

We dont have those guys. Here you put a £1 coin in a trolley and do it yourself. Those guys are a positive about travelling to/from the US. If y'all could just sort out that border control 2-3 hour wait crap, it might become a wannabe destination again. As it goes, I might have some business soon in Atlanta, so I might have to (if the money is good) suspend my sanctions-related US aversion. And use dollars again for a week or so.  :o

Actually the one example you picked is very expensive here LOL.
Average top quality guy working for someone, will get 25-30 an hour.
Working alone, knowing what he is doing maybe 45-50 per hour, but thats Canadian.
Red Seal Carpenter, electrician, plumber makes 25-35 here, more in Toronto, or Alberta.
I could pave a drive that size based in picture for about $3500.00
You should see the gear I have/ takes to do it proper.

Bricklayer / Carpenter/ here about £ 250 a shift some more some less

Manny i will answer you.  in the main on the "high" end properties we are building down here £2Million plus sale price tag then we are putting either Block or Water permeable finishes the latter being better for slopes as no standing water / massive surface drainage to put in to meet run off requirements

There is a company near you called Sudtechltd that specialise in this and we have used a couple of times through their franchise down here ,now i think they are called Langford direct ltd

Manchester based anyway

All our properties are NHBC so we are not allowed to put gravel on drives any more due to regulations for mobility access, and we find high spec customers do not want stones or gravel

Indian sandstone is ok and fine for light traffic areas but would not think of putting it on a drive just due to the nature that Sandstone is one of the softest stone products around.

hope that helps
Today is only one day in a life of happiness

Looks nice Chris, what was the final result?

We have spent the last 9 months renovating a new (for us) old house we bought in December, just moved in, most of the in side is done now, Versaille hardwood parquet floors went down last week,  just granite island worktop to do today and a bit of tiling, but the outside is still a building site, I had all the drive dug up a month or two ago, and stoned, rollered and wackered ready for a new drive, we have about 160 sq metres of it to lay.

So as you can imagine we have been looking at options since September last year when I visited a building exhibition in Harrogate, anyway, to cut a long story short, we were going to go for  a Perma drive,  www.porousdrivewaysolutions.co.uk  this is like a resin bonded drive but is porous, quite unique, and as far as my research went only one company in the UK install it, I think it is an American system and with it being porous there is a chance you can get a rebate on your water/sewage charges as the drive does not cause 'run  off' nor does it freeze in winter, so lots of benefits, cost was ca. £16,000 - over the time of refurbishing the house, we also looked at other options and have now decided to go for block paving, I was against this to start with as I don't like the way it gathers moss and dirt over time in the joints, however, my builder has been doing these for years and has a sealant he puts on them which keeps it looking fresh and new, it needs to be re-coated every 3-4 years but it' s just a spray over job, so not much of a

Looks very nice Chris! Did you go with it or did the rainbow coloured drive win out in the end?

There was a woman who spoke up about it who got carted off to "Political Re-Education Camp" because of it.

I am starting to think that, if the world is to be saved, it will be Poland that saves it:

News C*nt Cathy Newman1: "How many {refugees} has Poland taken?"

Polish MP: "Zero.  Not even one illegal Muslim will come to Poland."

News C*nt Cathy Newman1: "But...but...some Frenchy poof thinks that's bad!"

Polish MP: "Yeah, so?  We took in 2M Ukrainians because they can managed to live in civilized society, without raping women, kids and goats, or shitting in the street."

News C*nt Cathy Newman: "RAYYYYYYYYYYYCCCCCCCCIIIIZZZZZTZZZZ!!!"

Polish MP: "Kurwa."

Cathy Newman is another smug liberal tw*t who wants other people to bear the costs of illegal migration so she can feel good about herself.  She needs to be dropped into Tahrir square or have to put up the Kandahar Boys Club up at her house so she can "experience the benefits" of migration.

The usage would be similar to "F*ck* or "Motherf*cker"

Cathy Newman did an interview with Peterson which was the typical attempted hit piece; Peterson is widely regarded as having crushed her in the interview.

Yet another terrorist attack in the U.K. again by attempting to harm others by ramming them with a car.

https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/international/europe/181734-180814-car-crashes-outside-uk-parliament-reports-of-several-pedestrians-injured

As footage emerged following the incident, images showed that vehicle had collided with a number of cyclists and pedestrians before targeting the parliamentary estate.A "number of pedestrians" were said to have been injured in the attack. However, police added that they did "not believe that anybody is in a life-threatening condition."

He was a Sudanese immigrant who was living in Muslim Birmingham.

Mobyvator of course knows Sudan like the back of his hand, will claim to have lived there for 5 years, and knows at least 15 Sudanese families who have all integrated in the UK as model immigrants. Most will no doubt be GPs administering care and empathy to our elderly and fragile.

Mobyvator will be along shortly to tell us his ethnic background is irrelevant and he was a churchgoing member of the Salvation Army who loved nothing better than selling tea and scones at bring and buy sales so he could donate to children's charities.

When proved the bloke was a Muslim terrorist (as will be likely), Mobyvator will tell us it's nothing to do with Islam, he was a 'lone wolf', we are all raaaaaacists and 'islamaphobes' and he will link us to an article in the Guardian explaining why its all Brexit and Putin's fault.
