So perhaps the members of this forum could list a book here which they’ve read or one that they would like to read as it looks interesting.

A couple of months ago I purchased Personae by Ezra Pound.

One of my favorite poems from this book follows.

I think it’s one which AvHdB might also like.

Salutation

O Generation of the thoroughly smug
and thoroughly uncomfortable,
I have seen fishermen picnicking in the sun,
I have seen them with untidy families,
I have seen their smiles full of teeth
           and heard ungainly laughter.
And I am happier than you are,
And they were happier than I am;
And the fish swim in the lake
             and do not own clothing.

Don't know if this counts but I am currently watching the HBO mini series "John Adams".   Needless to say but very good.
What is worse than not being able to get what you don't even want?

Sounds very good to me.

I would say couple the mini series with a very good book about him.

Hopefully for obvious reasons I am a big fan of e. e cummings, here is one of his best in my opinion. & no I am NOT thinking of anyone of RUA fame.

i like my body when it is with your body

i like my body when it is with your
body.  It is so quite new a thing. Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body.  i like what it does,
i like its hows.  i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss,  i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh… And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you so quite new
