I often wonder why someone would ever write on their Bio "Im just a simple man"

How could a women work out exactly what the guy is saying?

I certainly would never write that about myself, it would be like saying "Im just a stupid man" or " I have no brain"  or "Im living in a tree house in the forest" Maybe some men mean they have normal life , in which case it's better to write "Im just a normal guy"  which sounds much more appealing to the women.

What other definitions could it mean?

A man who writes that he is a simple man is telling the world that he belongs to that group of men (and they are very often men) who adhere to the maxim: I know what I like and I like what I know.

It seems somehow odd that such a type is thinking that a person who will be different in every conceivable way to him will make a good wife. perhaps it is a reflection on the fact that they have not given it much thought because they are, truly, simple men.

The kind of man who will complain because his new wife speaks funny.

To me, this means that he is NOT a sophisticated man.  Meaning someone not of high social standing, refinement, and lifestyle.  Someone who does NOT stand out in society amongst the population and does not aspire to.  Also, the implication is that he lives the "simple life".  Not the jet set active gallivanting around all over the world type where tons of people look up to and admire.  Just a boring John Doe personality.     In dating, women often do not want to bothered with the "dull",  unattractive types.  She wants someone who will "sweep her off her feet" and be admired by others.

Calling someone or yourself a simple man is left to many interpretations.
For some it could be referred to as low maintenance or maybe what makes him
happy are the simple things in life. A good book, a great bottle of wine or whisky.
Or a relaxing sunset along the coast. So many different ways to look at.

For me it would be many of those things above and just being thankful for what you have.
I have  a desire for more and drive to achieve more, but also realize I have much more than
many already, do not be to greedy
