Congrats Rosco & missus...

We didn't celebrate the event 3 years ago, as to us it was a painless journey.

It helped that the wife was a lawyer before emigrating  :king:

Got there in the end.....

Yesterday, we went along to the local offices and my wife was officially confirmed as a British citizen, following a short formal ceremony. Interestingly in this part of Scotland, these gatherings only happen once every 8 weeks and it was the last of the year. The Duke of Buccleuch was in attendance, representing her majesty and in all fairness, it was lovely.

What did strike me as interesting was the other people, also applying to be British. There was a Spanish lady, a Pole, an American, my wife and 3 Irish folks looking to get the burgundy passport.

If you'd read the Guardian or listened to Moby, we were being led to believe that everyones doing what they can to be Irish or"European"!! Not all it seems.......

When my wife went to get hers, I think she was the only white in the room apart from the mayor and me.

There were 2 white faces at ours, mine and the wife.

Being as it’s Birmingham it’s hardly surprising
