Question regarding hotels
« on: April 18, 2018, 02:26:19 AM »
Suppose an American man is communicating with an ethnic Central Asian woman from the stans, and they decide to have a vacation together in Turkey.  Can both parties share a hotel room without any problems or could the woman be refused because of her origin / religion?  I know this is the case in pretty much all Muslim countries.

I hope Leslied can shed some light on this since he is a resident and knows Turkey quite well.

I appreciate any insight.

There is no simple answer to your question.

Does the lady adopt a Muslim or western style of dress?
Are you proposing to stay in a tourist or family run hotel?

You will have no problems staying in a tourist hotel, if the lady adopts a western dress style.  Please note that the hotel will require both passports for registration - that is a legal requirement.  Tourist hotels register double rooms to unmarried couples all the time.  There is no legal requirement that you should be married in Turkey to share a double room.

However if your lady is obviously Muslim you could encounter social disapproval.  Hotels are allowed to set there own guest requirements and a family run hotel could refuse to register you in a double room.

Hope this helps.

Go to Greece if you can........

Pay your money, go a hotel or an apartment, no questions asked apart from passport registration....and have plenty of fun...........

Go to the beach, if she wants a bit of extra sun tun and not shy.....she can show her melons.....or
if you want to sunbathe naked... ask the locals for the best beach.

Sorry Lesley......for the competition........

I think you should have asked me as my partner and I are not married and she hails from a predominately Islamic part of what was a former USSR state and is now independent - and we use TR hotels all over the place - from Istanbul, Bodrum, Antaliya, Fethiye, Kemer and she was sunbathing in the Turkish zone of Cyprus, today - on a beach - and was topless  ;)

We book places via booking.com / Airbnb

Relax, don't rub folks noses in it and you'll be good

Judging by Wiz' photo- they overdress in Greece ...

Thanks Leslie.  She dresses western so I guess I can stick to a larger hotel and be fine.

I've noticed there is a lot of grey area regarding religion and the different ethnicities in the FSU.

Im also communicating with an ethnic Tatar from Sevastopol currently living in Kiev which actually looks Russian.

Thanks Moby.  Is your girlfriend from the stans or Azeri?

By the way, Greece is lovely but its EU and would required a visa for her.

You will be surprise how easy is to get a holiday Visa... to Greece. Everytime I go to Kos and Rodos islands.... they are full of Eastern ladies on Holiday!

A travel agent there.... knows how!

Good luck.

Please don't!

He has already posted photos of his mistress..... in a Bikini.....showing her nice body... and nothing is wrong with that!

I don't have a problem but you seem to have... The rules of the board stops him. or anybody else for that matter ;D

Both Cyprus ( the official EU part) - Russians apply online - MUST use Word 2007/13 - visa within hours and Greece - as Wiz points out - are quite easy for Visas

She is from Uzbekistan but was born in Tajikistan

@Wiz...  Sorry, dream on..

On the site: https://www.booking.com/
the hotel administration has information about the Muslim law. My man previously warned that we will live together. Without official registration in the passport. tiphat

Bit touchy today Wiz?

My post was meant as a quip, but you have as much comprehension as one week old road kill.

Lets go back to the subject at hand?
