Putin Had a Hand in This - Korea Reunited!
« on: January 17, 2018, 09:54:44 AM »
It seems that North and South Korea will be fielding a Korean ice hockey team under a unified flag at the Winter Olympics.

If it comes off it'll be really good news for all Koreans and most stakeholders in the region's affairs. My guess is that the United States will find it hard to be positive about the breakthrough move though!

This is the kind of surprise move that one tends to associate with V.V.P, a constructive, win/win strategy that enhances the reputation of the two sides at little cost to each while building a bridge to further commitment. That it will probably go down like a cold vomit mouthwash in the United States is, I am sure, a planned for and desired bonus. Russian and Chinese policy planners are probably hugging themselves with glee now that the news is breaking.
...everything ends always well; if it’s still bad, then it’s not the end!
