What are the specific inaccuracies to which you allude?
It should be noted that it is between Alaska and Russia that the two countries are the closest geographically only a few miles separate them. Also the native, indigenous people or First Nation citizens have a right of visa free travel between Russia, The United States and Canada. From the article itself:
A short time passed, and gold started flowing from the “ice box”: The Klondike gold rush started in Alaska, bringing the States hundreds of millions of dollars. Of course it was insulting. from the article that TC noted.
Seaward was first rejected on the purchase of region of Alaska, by the US Congress. Second time in 1867 he had success. Gold was found only in 1896 almost 30 years latter, hardly
a short time that the article alludes to. What is odd there were consistent reports by the natives of gold being present in the region. The Russian~American Company ignored these reports, consistently as well.
There were conflicting claims to the region, Spain also had forts present, hence the city Valdez.
I could go into further detail but I have posted elsewhere a more accurate true history, not some fantasy of a Russian Revisionist short story writer.
