It is becoming clear that during the final days of the Obama regime a process was started, on Obama's watch and continued now, designed to end diplomatic ties between the United States and Russia.

The Russian government is limited in terms of its responses. I am sure that they understand the direction of United States activity and the desired outcome.

Historically San Francisco was a Russian outpost.

Yes I suspect the same is true. What is so sad if you remove those in power on both continents, you will find the common folk of Russian people and those in America are very much of the same 'stock'.

And Trump seems powerless to stop this. Some even say he is under "house arrest". For sure the bogus Russian collusion allegations are a form of a soft coup to undermine his Presidency.

And Trump seems powerless to stop this.

Trump being powerless, especially in issues concerning Russia, is becoming a thing.

Look at his "Muslim ban" thing..........

Russian newspapers are reporting that they know Trump is now only a sockpuppet and it is pointless trying to negotiate with him.

If not Trump then who?

Who is the decision maker in the US power elite?

If there is nobody, in authority, with whom to talk to then there can be only one next step.

The US has already engaged in acts of war against the Russian Federation. When will they openly declare war on the Russian Federation?

It has been clear that the Russian leadership has understood the process set in place by the United States regime. It is also clear that the same leadership has been, and will continue, working hard to delay the inevitable. Sadly they are not in control of the timetable and can only delay by not taking part in the process of provocation and response. However, the Russian government is also under pressure to respond to provocation and, to some degree, must respond. This means that the process is inevitable unless something very significant happens within the United States power elite.

The work being done to remove the U.S from its pivotal economic position is unlikely to to be effective soon enough to prevent the U.S from mounting its final wars. Indeed, the U.S power elite activity is probably being stimulated as a response to external economic activity.

What are the "acts of war" which the USA has engaged in? The USA states Russia started the problems by invading Ukraine. Which Russia obviously disagrees with.

But I see no US acts of war. Provocations perhaps.

I see in the US a clumsy and ill informed leadership.

The US economy while burdened by unsustainable debt is quite strong and is pulling the rest of the world along its coat tails. The admirals and generals are waiting on the side lines, they are though battle weary.

Beyond a new round of silly US sanctions against Russia there has been little interaction between the two nations.

Andrew perhaps you should expound on your comments and explain better your line of thinking. I suspect some of the answer lies in your first question.

Sanctions and the contraventions of the Vienna Convention.

Sanctions are economic warfare.
The Vienna Convention gives diplomatic premises an important status and gives the host state some significant responsibilities. The United States has chosen to, de facto, withdraw from the Vienna Convention.

Look 'em up.

There's no strict definition of the term in international law however, as a rule of thumb this might serve: https://definitions.uslegal.com/a/act-of-war/

Dictionary.com suggested this:
Quote
an act of aggression by a country against another with which it is nominally at peace.
