As teens we were studying carefully Kama Sutra, it was the only "sexual education" available to us.  :innocent:
I remember to this day that at the time ( i think i was 15)

Ohhh,  yeahh!!!
That was my driving force to visit India.
Trust me, I did not miss that part!!!
All teen's fantasies are fully satisfied!!!

:-X You know i collect cards  ;) One of my latest acquisitions was Lo Scarabeo's Kama Sutra playing cards  :innocent:

p.s. i am still at loss about the teacher and the parrot parts  ???  ;D ;D ;D

But, back to being serious... Among my Indian loves, i forgot to mention Rabindranath Tagore. Except the Russians and William Blake, he's the only poet i am forever madly in love with...

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake

Where The Mind Is Without Fear by Rabindranath Tagore

Time is endless in thy hands, my lord.
There is none to count thy minutes.

Days and nights pass and ages bloom and fade like flowers.
Thou knowest how to wait.

Thy centuries follow each other perfecting a small wild flower.

We have no time to lose,
and having no time we must scramble for a chance.
We are too poor to be late.

And thus it is that time goes by
while I give it to every querulous man who claims it,
and thine altar is empty of all offerings to the last.

At the end of the day I hasten in fear lest thy gate be shut;
but I find that yet there is time.

Endless Time by Rabindranath Tagore

Nice pics Orchid. If you could post where and of what,  that would be great as most people wouldn't have a clue.

It's not about destination....
It's all about spirit and beauty.
It's all about how I love India.
Here I am thinking you're posting pics for an audience!!!

You had to pour on our parade, hadn't you?!   :( :( :(

You won't really find Blake's angels hanging out on the trees in modern UK, or the Njegos' mountain wreath in contemporary Monte, but that doesn't stop us from admiring the best of world's poetics and peaks of human thought :GRRRR:

(Btw, Kama Sutra is an obligatory read in the 1st year if you are doing BA in World Literature  ;)   :KISSSS:)

Thank you  ;D ;D ;D Orchid, you literally made my day with this inspiring thread  :loving: :loving: :loving: I woke up sad, full of some existential worries and then when i saw the images you captured i literally felt spiritually uplifted... And after spending the most pleasant and fulfilling time enjoying your thread and re-reading Tagore (his poems are like prayers to me)  i received the best possible news about this situation that had saddened me.

I know that too. They are conservative in a good way. I have many real life Indian friends, two of them among besties. You can't cast a shadow on my admiration of all things Indian  ;D
p.s. There was a study that Indians are the most faithful spouses. (If i try hard, i can even link to it.) Being a traditional Balkan person (more so Jewish), how could one possibly not LOVE that?!

You didn't quite ask me that.....
I have been with a beautiful white woman, my wife, in India.  ;D
The first time, we honeymooned on an islan in the Andaman Sea.
We have seen the Taj Mahal at sunrise.
We have walked on the beaches of Goa and strolled through the streets of Calcutta amongst other things.
I have trekked in the Himalayas and seen Everest at dawn.
Next year we are moving to India to live.

Most of my friends who traveled to India posted either pictures of extreme poverty  or 1001 selfie from some godforsaken ashram.

I was fed up with people taking selfies.
Visit to India has changed and healed me in many ways.
One guide in Mumbai gave me a picture of his kids.
India has it's own way in everything, including selfies.
They do not irritate me anymore.
I hope you will smile....

Is Orchid a Thai woman from Thailand? In my experience they're the most exotic and most capable of fulfilling any type of Kama Sutra fantasy.

We have seen the Taj Mahal at sunrise.

Next pictures are to remind to Mr. DS and his beautiful wife about very special time in a very special place.
Pictures are very weak illustration why it is special.
To know that you must be there.
People travel from all over the world to bring their love to Taj Mahal.
You can see it in their eyes and how couples hold each other....
Once you step on those stones, you will never be able cut the ties to this place.

Спасибо большое, Орхид. Как классное фото.

I have very similar shots to those you have taken, almost the same angles too.
