Beware the dangers of taking your beloved FSU W to such exotic locations without checking Visa requirements...with the relevant authorities and getting it in writing

Your are going on the romantic trip of a life time .. You have checked in, cleared passport control ( She has a long-term Schengen Visa) and you are sipping French Champagne - waiting to be called to board ...

Then your lady's name is called out over the PA system and you go to the Information Desk - to be met with an agent of the airline and security.

You are informed that your Visa is not acceptable and you cannot embark, must leave the departures zone and are escorted to collect your luggage.

The mistake ? The Schengen should have been issued in France - not another EU nation.

This happened recently to someone I know.

They went for a week to a less exotic location
