While this tendency of news/entertainment media to lie is a problem in the UK it is certainly a greater problem in the USA. I think that might be a reflection of the manner in which US media is managed but also of the K-12 and even higher education of the readership.

'Former member of Duma, on the run after being caught engaged in fraud' might be a more accurate headline. Looks like he was murdered in order to keep up tensions between the Kievan regime and Russia.

Coincidence between this event and IMF loan troubles? No coincidence at all. This is a distraction event designed to garner attention and sympathy to Ukraine's 'plight'. The framing of the narrative is obvious.
