Are you a racialist ?
« on: November 14, 2016, 06:41:58 PM »
In todays world where the thought police control all the simple people its very easy to be called a racist by the liberal lunatics.
just one little comment in the wrong place and your in deep trouble with the thought police and probably will be ostracised for the next 10 years..

I used to have a profile in Freelancer.com when I needed the occasional bit of work done. For any job I posted I categorically made it perfectly clear in black and white that the job was NOT for Pakistanis, Indians or anyone from that part of the world. I do have a few Indian friends and have no problem with Indians but when it comes to web programming its a big NO NO from past experience.

I guess if I posted the job in the local job centre I would probably be sent to prison in the UK  :chuckle:

not prison but what they do is publicly ostracize you so that you are almost permanently unemployed. I call it Gulag by economic ruin.

If you place an advert, as you described, then your adv will not be accepted  by the Job Centre and if they do by mistake, then you run the possibility to be accused for racial discrimination…. and taken to court and get a fine by some clever spark looking for easy money.

When I was running my travel company always placed adverts with Job centre and in them I made clear….. no telephone call but asking for a CV to be send. At that time I was getting Dozens of applications and going through was very easy to recognise who was not right for the job, with first criterion distance from my office, so a polite letter reply….. sorry this time you were not successful because of the volume of applications.

Of course I had to discriminate against a lot of people to fulfil the actual needs of my company for the job advertised.

For example, for telephone reservations I had the need for people Educated and over 25 years (so they had some office experience in telesales) and with clear English (neutral) accent so can be understood from anybody in the UK.

Many applicants could not even prepare a decent CV, so went off my desk and after reading through these applications always ended up with 5-6 possible candidate.

One phone call and short chat…. and knew if they were OK to come for an interview….or not. After the interviewing all of them…. was easy to decide who was right for the job, will fit with the others and I never went wrong.

My last team was consisted by 5 young ladies between 22 – 30 years old and funnily enough the younger one was acting as their supervisor. All of them had perfect clear accents, very agile on the keyboard and in their selling blab bla attitude and the young supervisor was more meticulous then me. I ended up with an excellent team selling over 10.000 holidays with no much effort.

My main program was Summer holidays to Greece with flights from Gatwick, Luton, Man and Newcastle. covering all England and the south of Scotland. With their instigation and effort we ended up selling winter holidays to Majorca, the Canary islands and also to Greece, Athens, Rhodes and Crete. Of course my job was to organise  flights, accommodation, advertising etc.

I also was able to get up and walk out of the office, for hours, and knew that Michelle, will take care for everything. she was a very astute lady, worth every penny and I had to nearly double her salary to keep her on board until I retired.

Never had any problems with my discriminating tactics………

I advertised for a part time experienced mature bookkeeper and found an Indian lady, living near the office who was doing better Credit control than me and was keeping our accounts and books up todate, on a daily basis. She made sure no travel documents went out without full payment. Additionally she always, daily, prepared Excel forecasts and  drop them on my desk before going home. Innitially she asked for £6 an hours and I offered her, after her first month £10.... and that was it!

All of them had apart from the basic salary also cash incentives for every booking they were making and a month’s salary Christmas bonus, when they were achieving their targets.

Finally and that was a surprise for me, the Indian bookkeeper, when we had an unexpected VAT visit…. She ended up getting the right information from the tax people and a refund of £18.000 pounds, because of their wrong advice and instructions, in writing by them.

Finding the right people you want to employ, there is always a way to avoid problems from the politically correct mafia.

I never allowed the Job Centre to dictate to me their stupid rules.

 :)

My brother has a large sailing school and during the summer he hires additional instructors for basic sailing classes. Most of the instructors are college students looking for a gig on the water. One evening we spoke at how some in fact the majority were so impractical that you almost wanted to scream at them to just think. They needed to take five items (small & light) to the dock ~ often it resulted in six trips.

Having noted this both of my adult children are doing quite well. Praise the Lord.

To sort of echo what Wiz posts when we advertised for a secretary or other function for work in Holland the number of incompetent CV's was amazing. None the less the head secretary always answered, politely, but we had many chuckles before. In fact though it turned out one of the best workers was in fact a guy from Suriname.
