Where to be buried?
« on: October 31, 2016, 01:35:55 PM »
Well I was in the UK a few weeks back and my parents happened to mention if I die in Russia they will not be funding my repatriation

I said it's no problem I can be buried in Russia (thats if If I die, I'm waiting a cure to ageing) I think they was was a little shocked that I thought about being buried in Russia?? I guess for most the final resting place should be with the rest of the family or in the family plot? But does it really matter?

I don't understand the point of being buried with your family , its just a short term thing anyway in the grand scale of things.. :chuckle:

You need to remember plate tectonics , global warming , rising and sinking of land masses. Anyone buried in the UK now is unlikely to be in the same place in one billion years time any way?

Being buried in Russia sounds a much safer bet in the long run. I don't see central Europe going any where in the next few billion years.  :)

In terms of location, where you are buried does not really matter since you are dead.   :GRAVE:

Perhaps if you are resurrected, then where you pop out of the ground might matter.   :o

As for being buried away from other family members, that might result in nobody visiting your grave site (if that is any concern of yours).  Descendants often prefer to visit grave sites of relatives that are clustered in one cemetery.  If most of the family are buried in Germany and one buried in South Africa, the surviving family members in Germany are unlikely to make the trek to Africa.  There will likely be no "tomb cleaning" done for the "abandoned" grave site (not unless you are a very famous personality).

Note that in China, burial space is a premium in the major city areas and they are now mandating cremations for funerals.

When the sun goes to supernova condition, then all will vaporize anyway.

Just get burned. More sensible all round and at least you can be sure you won't be buried alive.

That is something I will never ever do!! Once you are incinerated there is no hope whatsoever of being resurrected  :chuckle:

There is a nice amber shop in St Petersburg and it gave me the idea of being preserved in amber , like a prehistoric fly.. and just hope one day in the future someone will try to resurrect me from my DNA

How do you know that cremation is not the ONLY way to be reincarnated?

I'm thinking of starting a business were we cryogenically preserve the bodies in a sealed chamber where they will prefectly preserved at great expense to the now dead punter, take his house, mortgage his kids etc....

Then just dump the bodies on the tip and fook off with the cash, luverly jubly.....

Its impossible to be re incarnated from just ash.. I need to at least save my DNA so there is a chance, ok it maybe 1 in 100 trillion but I'm going to take that chance. I plan to be preserved in amber with my laptop and a few other bits and pieces along with a written statement to please try to resurrect me..

Otherwise I did have another plan and that is to be put in a titanium coffin  and sent out to space on the hope that one day some superior life form will find me and maybe bring me back to life..

Some may laugh! but I don't want to die!!!

I would never entrust my body to such a business ..they are hardly likely to be about in 50,000 years?

Indeed, there are some vain sad saps .

Russia isn't big on cremation - despite loads of free space...

Still, a bizarrely interesting thread.. I'm for cremation and scattering the ashes in the sea...

It's not like ashes are 'toxic' ..

http://www.scattering-ashes.co.uk/general/are-human-cremation-ashes-toxic/

Burial seems 'greener' - if there's the space

I have never claimed to be a Blue Beret

Spurious claims about 'seeing action' with the Blue Berets are debunked >here<

I told my wife to put me in the green bin LOL.
She better hope I don't die on Sat. Green bin goes on Friday, could be a bit stinky by then.

If you want to be preserved, then head over to Siberia and put yourself into a deep freeze.

If you are going to burn yourself, do not do it this way.
