The architecture of the church is indeed stunning and shows a very good understanding of the Baroque style common to the West of central Europe.

The art work is in fact I strongly suspect not paintings but frescoes. (Think the Sistine Chapel) They are fragile and only as strong as the exterior walls and roof. They appear to be rather common of the period but when in the origional state and colour must have been simply amazing to view.
