Russian archeological finds.
« on: July 13, 2016, 03:47:58 PM »
I come across many articles about ancient finds in Siberia and other parts of Russia, so this thread will be just that.

Hand in hand for 5,000 years, the Bronze Age dignitary and his younger concubine who have been discovered buried together in Siberia

Seeing some do not even last 5 years together. I guess we should tip our hat to the happy couple.

This archeologists and preservationists versus development debate has been going on for over 30 years (since the end of the Soviet Union). I am confident if a former native to central Moscow who departed in say 1985 & returned he would be challenged to recognize 'his' city. If am not mistaken a Nobel prize winner wrote exactly about this, A. Solzhenitsijn.

We all have dreams and some hope.. :)

For example some reptiles from the dinosaur period have landed up in the Natural History Museum fossilised and up on the wall. I look at it as it is better to be up on that wall then 500 ft down for another billion years, its a kind of accomplishment. I know you probably think Im a crack pot , but Im really not looking forward to spending 15 billion years buried.. I like life..

This could be considered more difficult than finding a needle in a haystack.

Read a trip report from North Korea >>here<< - Read a trip report from South Korea, China and Hong Kong >>here<<

Look what the American media makes some people believe:

Not so odd. France was hugely influential in Russia 250 years ago, in fact many/most aristocrats and hangers on spoke french in preference to Russian. That effect hangs on in the large number of French import words in the language.

All things French were in vogue. These jetons most likely were simply the belongings of some Russian bloke. Jetons were not coinage, they were tokens in lieu of coins, and thus had no fixed reference point for date - no need to melt and recast when a new king came to power so they'd be in use until worn out and over time become dispersed very widely.
...everything ends always well; if it’s still bad, then it’s not the end!
