In my tape was interesting stuff about the "Battle of Stalingrad 1942-1943".
Accordingly, I am sharing here.

So, the summer of 1942. After the Red Army accident near Kharkov in the front line to the Don steppes become bare, and overcoming a few desperate resistance of the Soviet troops, the Wehrmacht launched an offensive toward the Volga and the Caucasus. August 23 Germans out of Stalingrad, on the same day the worst air raid of German bombers, who transformed the once prosperous city in ruins solid. In just a few hours died more than 40 thousand inhabitants.

Many thanks, Annushka! As we say in Russian: "There is no future without the past".
Livet är fullt av ironier.

Thank you Annushka for those interesting photos! Stalingrad was always an interest of mine. I imagine you can feel the ghosts of the past like it shows in the photos? I collect items that are reflective of the spirit of those places. I have an Army hat that was made during the time of my uncle being in Korea at the Chosin Reservoir, December 1950. I also have a Russian 1942 Mosin Nagant sniper rifle, the kind used by the Red Army to repel the Germans in that year. These items remind me of the past.

Congratulations on Victory Day!
