Helicopter crashes in Syria

A Russian Mi 28N has crashed in the Homs area of Syria killing both pilots..

The early bad news of this crash, is that the main rotor gearbox failed, which would cause the helicopter to dive uncontrollable to the ground.

There is no indication of the aircraft being brought down by any other means..
