Gypo

once again, you're deflecting

Which of us has bought TWO Fords cars in Russia in the last 2.5 years ?

Which of us has had serous issues with quality control that fell on deaf ears in Russia and got Dearborn - Ford HQ in USA  - to sort out the issues - involving close contact with upper management in Ford Soller to the point where a senior employee is now a mate - as we share a similar interest ?

You even have the STUPIDITY to suggest non access to Ford's B2B portal and 'imaginary friends' - when I attempt to login I get ''NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT SHARE YOUR USER ID OR PASSWORD WITH ANYONE''..I hope that's a clue to your daftness - assuming I have never come across Ford TQM acronyms ..

When an organisation / company provide bad service - I make it my business to go to the top and get things sorted.....  I'm polite, but insistent -it gets results ....

As the Service Manager at the local dealership asked, '' how long have you lived in Russia, you have a lot to learn'' ...... Weeks later, as SC collected her new car, he asked if we knew Putin' ....

So. let's conclude..

Gypo has suggested I've mislead the members about dates, my personal and business relationships with Ford - WHY? Because I (correctly) posted that the Ford Eco Sport had 'uprated' suspension ...  :chuckle:

Does that include the folks in Cyprus who still want to have a 'word' with him or the customer whose wife was 'confused' by his line of chat?

If I could choose anything, it would definitely be a BMW X3. Those things are so popular in Kiev amongst the rich playboys here, haha.

Of course, something more practical is on the table...but one can dream.
I'd seriously considered an X5 a few months ago but after trying out the off road capabilities (which is similar to X3), I was struggling to make the £50k expense worth it.

I've since test driven the Range Rover Sport and Discovery Sport, both handle very well off road however I can't decide which model to go for as I'm unsure of my future requirements work wise although I'm leaning Discovery Sport on the basis that it's big enough while also being compact enough.

Whether I buy it in the UK, EU or CIS is another matter (Ukraine looking likely if I set up the business there).

I bought a new Discovery Sport recently, a very good car, no complaints at all,

PS I have also done quite a bit of off roading in both the DS and RRS recently and both performed extremly well.
I've been back to the dealership this morning and I've ordered the Discovery Sport HSE Luxury in LHD, I hope I have the same experience as you quality wise as the estate drive was very good once again.

New 'full Disco' expected soon and ordered ....may be too big for you ?

I like the Freelander replacement - the Discovery Sport - better than the Evoque
I asked about it today at the dealership and there wasn't a lot of information available from him so I presumed it would be of a similar size but new style to the current Discovery, I didn't go for it.

The Evoque is dreadful, they dropped the ball with that one.

I don't understand the argument but I doubt this part very much.

As you are new - a very brief explanation - basically we bought a lemon Ford and I 'rejected the said vehicle' as unfit for purpose and  asked for expenses for our travel whilst the car was - AGAIN - off road for weeks..

We got all our expenses and a replacement car  - though not the one I would have gone for ...

The initial Ford response was 'we have fulfilled all our legal obligations'

Here's the thread ..

Better to ask .. rather than offering opinions on stuff you could not know about ... I certainly cannot prove it - but that is EXACTLY what happened ..

Moby 'the russiophobe'  :chuckle: has bought a new St. Petersburg assembled Toyota RAV4 ..in Russia

This is the car ..

My Uncle has the previous model and it has been a reliable heap...

Personally, I am not a fan of SUVs but I am the only family member who was without one... S.C was nuts for it and sold it to me as being a great sofa....

Just seen this.

Not bad...

2x4 or 4x4, 2/2.5, man/auto, trim level??
Heavier duty suspension only for Russian roads of course..

Its going to cost you much more than the eco for insurance, you will be looking at 110/130 k.r.
Servicing will also rock your wallet pretty hard..
And they are uncomfortable sofa's...
Good luck with it and the engine warning light...

Am not going to respond to your other bollox...

I only have eyes for the Tesla Model S now, nothing else matters...

Forthcoming Model 3 is interesting though especially if it does sell for $35,000 (it won't in Denmark with the 180% car tax on top).

toyota.ru

2 litre petrol auto option  - all there

Its going to cost you much more than the eco for insurance, you will be looking at 110/130 k.r.

I already posted it's 12,000 Rubles ;)

Servicing will also rock your wallet pretty hard.

free servicing for three years.

And they are uncomfortable sofa's...

Probably - what with the uprated suspension for Russian roads ?

Good luck with it and the engine warning light...

That was the Ford Focus..

I checked here - before buying ,,,,

Cannot spot any major issues with engine warning lights

Am not going to respond to your other bollox...

Correction : I left off a zero on the insurance 120k Roubles = 1500 UK Pounds / 1800 USD - for insurance ..   nearly 4 times more than the UK for a RAnge Rover Evoque worth 54K Pounds new ?

Why is Russian insurance SO much more expensive ?
