You seem to know more about the harsh Russian winter than the average foreigner, so your granny probably was Russian.  :saint:

I will always survive the Russian winter (though I have the dreaded Grip at this moment) Im a natural born survivor  :laugh: Be it the Jungle, the desert or the arctic I will survive and more importantly I will not complain what ever the situation  :smoking:

In my long ago youth my family lived in northern Canada where winter temperatures of -40o C and lower were expected. A day of only -20o C would be a regular school and work day.

With today's technological in cars to deal with extreme cold weather and cold weather clothing -20o C really isn't much of a problem. An inconvenience at best.

Its not just the winter weather, its the dark mornings and dark afternoons. Its dark here till nearly 10am soon, not so easy to get out of bed early in the winter :chuckle:

True  :) After years of living in Moscow, I am particularly loving the early sunrises in Monte. I miss the snow though.
