how to manage a tourist visa to two different russian cities?

When travelling to two different cities during your stay in Russia how do you apply for a tourist visa? With both hotels or just the first location?

From memory, first location is fine. Just got to ensure entry/exit dates are accurate. May have changed, haven't been back for 8 years.
