Sochi Formula1 weekend
« on: October 09, 2015, 05:11:18 AM »
This weekend sees the return of F1 to the Olympic Park track in Adler - only 2 miles from the airport and border with 'Abkhazia' / Georgia.

Friday should be made up of two practice sessions.

The weather has been perfect - until today ...autumn arrived ..... a damp track is bad enough, but someone  managed to spill diesel on the track  :o

The video may be only viewable with a UK ip address.

IF you can see it - the  largest - part open stadium - is where the Fifa World Cup group stages are supposed to be held in 2018.

Russians are FINALLY waking up to the fact that they have a relented driver ..just as his team - Red Bull are threatening to pull out - if they don't get a  good engine for next year.

Team Gazprom, any one  ?

And in true Russian style, some idiot dumped a load of oil/diesel on the track right before free practice 1.  :RUS:

Well, I am totally peed off... my ticket went to good use and Sergey got to see Raikkenen take out Bottas and and a few other DPPs - crashes ..

I really was moved by the singing of the Russian national anthem - which is amongst the most interesting and the most entertaining ..
