Life after death!
« on: September 03, 2015, 09:41:40 AM »
The Russians will soon be cloning a woolly mammoth which is great news! I hate the thought of dying and there could finally be help on the horizon. One of my goals is to make enough money to be preserved in way or other and hope some time in the future I can be bought back to life! Why should we have to die!!

I first heard the cloned woolly mammoth story on John Craven's Newsround circa 1978.

The idea gets aired by different countries every couple of years since, but nobody actually seems to get on with it.

There was a programme on it a while ago actually examining the DNA they had, and the various geneticists thought it seemed unlikely as there was no complete DNA.

An interesting overview here from 2002: http://www.salon.com/2002/01/03/mammoth/

I think that we are moving into interesting times as the Chinese curse says. However, I rather doubt that we will be in a position to emulate, for real, the fantasies of Mr Roddenberry!

More likely teaching our grand kids how to use a snare to catch small mammals.

On the scale of things over a 100,000 year time span everything has happened in the last 100 years. In just 50/100 years time you will not recognise the earth.
Mankind is about to become a very advanced civilisation (Thats providing they don't exterminate each other) within 20 years they will have telescopes that will be able to look directly at planets 100 million light years away. IF they had cities at one time on any of these planets they will have the technology see this from Earth :)
Of course it would of taken 100 million light years for us to see this so actually we will be looking back in time.

I think Mr Roddenberry's Earth will very soon be with us :)

Unfortunately Im probably going to miss the boat  :(  Hence the need to be saved somehow??

Steveboy, I don't think either of us would be clients for any form of 'Genesis Project' .. I also think we are friggin' years off phasers, trans space transporters or travelling at the speed of light...

Unless those -still - closed areas afe populated by pointy eared folks... :chuckle:
I have never claimed to be a Blue Beret

Spurious claims about 'seeing action' with the Blue Berets are debunked >here<

Of course we will be travelling at light speed in the near future!
