Number and frequency of visits to your now wife.

So I've been to visit my lady exclusively twice now.

I'm flying out again on Friday for a long weekend and the same again 3 weeks later.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to visit fairly often. I'm curious to how often others have visited and how long for (duration of trip and how many months or years).

Also how long until you popped the question? Not considering this yet but would like some perspective from successful guys.

I had 3 long visits to my wife, then she visited netherlands 2ce and then we bit the bullet and she started the emigration process.

From memory:
- First meeting, 1 week in Evpatoria her home
- Second meeting, 2 weeks, split between Kiev/Evpatoria to ask for a tourist visa for her (process took 1 week)
- Her first visit to Netherlands, 3 weeks.
- My visit to Evpatoria next time, 2 weeks.
- Her last visit to Netherlands, 3 Months.

After that, she went home we had a long chat and then decided to go forward from there.

We had known eachother about 2 years (8 months total together) before asking the big questions.

First week of September. Phone call couple of days later.
I visited 5 weeks later in mid Oct.
2nd visit end of Oct.
3 visit for NY.
4th visit Feb.
5th visit March, filled in visit visa application.
She visited me in April for a week.
Back to Kiev in May and June. (Question asked and she accepted)
She visited me twice in July.
She visited again in Aug with children for two weeks.
I visited again every few weeks over the next few months.
She visited for Christmas. Returned together to Kiev for NY.
Got married a few days after.

Edit: most of my visits were very short, flying out on a Friday and returning on Sunday.

My trips have been like this and will continue like so for the time being until perhaps a seasonal holiday like NY or a long vacation in Asia which we've already discussed. She's just moved to Germany and is studying German before looking for work so it's another added dimension her already relocating elsewhere. On the flip side it is very convenient to get to and visiting once or twice a month is no trouble.

It depends upon each of your needs and personality.  When we finally got married I was 60 and Irina was 50.  she could not take vacations during the school year and I had severe job restrictions.  From early on we were both in love and still are.

It was easier to bring my wife to me. First visit was summer 2010 - about 2 months. Then she came back summer of 2011 and we have been together ever since. Married in 2012. We spent about 16 months together before getting married; could have done so earlier but there were immigration advantages to waiting a while.

I think the amount of time you should spend together before getting married is in part dependent on your ability to communicate. If she has limited English I think it would take longer on average. There are obvious exceptions, but if you can't have really intense conversations and you have to clarify exactly how you feel then it is tougher to get to know someone.

Very interesting and enlightening responses. I see many of you had the luxury of having your lady visit your respective countries during the courting process. I views this as hugely important so that she knows or at least gets a taste of what her new life will be like.

Unfortunately, (and anyone correct me if I'm wrong) for those of us in the States we will only have the option of getting a 90 day fiancé/K90 visa as tourist visas are extremely difficult to obtain.

I'd certainly like to have any potential future life-long partner be able to visit without the burden of having to decide if she's marrying me or not within the 90 days. I wish tourist visas were easier to come by.

I visited 2 times, first 14 days. 2nd, 21 days.
Then she came for 3 months, I Went for another 10 days, her here for another
3 months, married during that trip, then she went home and visa process.

I do agree if possible having her visit, simple because she gets to see your world.
The life you live and her surroundings. If you can't do this, take videos and lots of them. not the same but does give her some ideas.

We skyped daily when apart and sms daily also several calls a week

We met first in Malta.

Then I picked her up at Charles De Gaulle in Paris and we drove up to Holland, and she flew back from Amsterdam.

Then I went to Russia.............

Then she came to the UK for a couple of weeks.

Then for the next nine months we saw each other every three or four weeks in either the UK, Russia or Estonia.

We were married at the end of 2006.

I don't think it matters.. I met my Russian wife numerous times ..meetings in Russia,Cyprus and UK and we lived together for six months before marrying.

We probably had more time 'trying each other out for size' than most and we split after 5 years.

I met my wife five years ago in Istanbul, four weeks later we met again in Istanbul. The next two years we met pretty well every month in either Moldova or St Petersburg.
I moved in with her in Moldova for about 14 months before we moved permanently to St Petersburg a few years back.
We only married last December

That is an interesting side point isn't it? Seldom you hear about it when people split up (as the member usually melts away) so it can give the false impression that every tale you read is a happy ever after story.

The vast majority are "Wack-jobs" "Nutters" and "Head cases" !! A long long time ago when I first got into the Russian dating business I spent about 3/4 years in every site on the net, spamming and what ever. (Its nothing unusual many web sites started out the same way) I can assure you over the years I have communicated with more guys in one way or another than you could ever imagine, thousands!! And yes a huge amount of them are "Nutters" !! Complete "Nutters" and I would feel sorry for any women becoming married to many of these guys.

Its easy to see why they are single. Of course there are some good guys out there also , but Im sure there are more "nutters" than normal guys. Its the women I feel sorry for.

I have lost count of the amount of mails I get from guys along the lines off:

"Hello, I have been chatting to Natasha for two days and now she has blocked me? There must be a problem or she has done this by mistake. Could you please unblock my messages allowing me to communicate with her. Or maybe you have her personal e mail? Thanks for your help"

As well as nutters there are so many "planks" out there who are completely clueless .  98% of the time the women has blocked the guy for the simple reason thats he's an idiot and cannot take no for an answer. Of course he's usually trying to work out why this women would not want to continue communicating with him especially as he is planning to save her from a life of poverty

After our visit I gave my word I would come back every 3 months...I kept my word and we are now happily married with a 5 month russian/american baby boy!
