Child 44 Film (Movie)
« on: July 14, 2015, 01:35:36 PM »
Just err, downloaded it, movie synopsis;

Quote
During Stalin's rule of the Soviet Union in the early 1950s, disgraced Ministry of State Security (MGB) Agent Leo Demidov (Tom Hardy) uncovers a strange and brutal series of child murders by a serial killer who everyone claims does not exist because it is Soviet doctrine that it is capitalism, not communism which creates serial killers.

Not watched it yet, got a rating of 24% on Rotten Tomatoes, bit poor, shame the Russian and FSU people can't judge, since it's been banned in the cinema.

Wonder if it's based on Chikataylo......

I also have not yet seen it however I was aware of it several months ago and knew the plot.  The author is Tom Rob Smith.

Does it have Donald Sutherlund in it? I know there was a pretty good movie with him in it about a serial killer in Soviet Russia.

Read a trip report from North Korea >>here<< - Read a trip report from South Korea, China and Hong Kong >>here<<

Look what the American media makes some people believe:
Putin often threatens to strike US with nuclear weapons.

Maybe it's a cam version with people walking in front of the camera?

It's a web-rip (i.e. proper video) with cam audio which is a bit shit really. Watchable though.

It's out there on KAT.

I just finished it. I thought it was good. Obvious why it was "banned" or whatever the Russians are calling it. Tom Hardy was excellent as well as the female lead.
