We use the Euro deli in Manchester.

Euro Deli
9 Old Church Street, Newton Heath
Manchester M40 2JF
Tel: 0161 682 2424
http://www.eurodeli.co.uk/

They have the usual stuff, we go there quite often.

There is a proliferation of Polish food shops abounding in Manchester to cater to the many Poles here. As most of us will know, many of the foodstuffs are the same and your lady can get her Pelmeni and Gretchka and Smetana etc at these places too.

Two Polish shops in Manchester I know of that we have frequented are:

Ashton-Under-Lyne - Stamford St, bottom end near roundabout. Best accessed by parking in Asda and walking 2 mins under the subway.

This may be of interest to those in the UK.

There's a Russian shop in Edinburgh called Nostalgia which sells all kinds of Russian food. We visited it at the weekend for the first time and stocked up on kefir and pryaniki.

They have loads of different products, and they also offer a UK-wide delivery service via the  Web Gastronom website.

Does anyone know of any Russian food shops in Newcastle upon Tyne, England where one can find Russian pancakes (blini)?

Tesco do mini ones as do Sainsburys, but I haven't seen full-size ones.

If anyone is (still) interested in Polish shops we have 27 in my little town. At the last count that's one for every 23 residents. They are now in 1st place ahead of charity, phone and Indian take-a-way establishments.

people have unofficially renamed our town, "little poland".

I love some of the polish foodstuffs, in particular the pickled cucumbers!
