I always chuckle when I read 'Crowd funded' re Russian Insider...

If you took the time to read between the lines - our overlysycophant author would realise the 'sheeple' pulled out of investing in Russia - because the state indulged in 'counter-sanctions' - which were essentially protectionism - giving certain- VERY inefficient industries - like agriculture - a massive chance to modernise.

Look, with all the resources Russia has, it should be FAR better off than it is ...   This 'russophobe' [ :sick0012: ] would rather see Russia back in G8 and trading as an equal - competing without all the red tape and YES - corruption- that holds her back ..

THAT is what prevents investment ...  'Funny' how the author doesn't mention that ...

Despite Sanctions Russia's Economy Shoots over $4 trillion

http://russia-insider.com/en/despite-sanctions-russias-economy-shoots-over-4-trillion/ri21632

Once again, we must thank TomCat for inadvertently drawing attention to some interesting stats:

1/ The EU combined - similar populations - knock the US into third spot

2/ The figures use Dollars - ('de-dollarisation', anyone ? ) for comparison purposes

3/ How is Russia 'winning' when she is lagging so far behind smaller populated and more efficient nations ?

The Russian economy might have improved slightly in 2017, but sanctions have slowed the progress. I just wonder what incentive there would be to bring money back into Russia? There had to be a reason why the money left the country to begin with.
