Mark, I'm glad to hear that your mother is worthy of a cancer tumor.
I have only to pray together ....
I recently came from Siberia. I was on a trip for 1.5 months. My visit was accompanied by extreme temperatures: over -40C. This does not explain the sensations!!!

My tablet stopped working. But I love Siberia! Here, clean air and heart people. Since my family lives in Siberia, I will move. From the south of Russia to Siberia.

Hi Annushka !

She is recovering, well, Thanks :)

Can you say which city you intend to move to ? I know Novosibirsk and have visited Krasnoyarsk - TOO cold in Winter and too HOT in the short summer :)

May be you'll still be on the Volga this summer ...   Sveta has never swum in it and is jealous of me !

Hello, msmoby. :)
This is the Khanty-Mansiysk District. Above I described in detail about the city of Nyagan, which appeared next to the Tallinn oil field. I'm not saying that I will move from the mild climate of southern Russia to the harsh climate of Siberia. I plan to go to the children and grandchildren in the winter.
Until the end of summer, I take my family to Volgograd. Everyone loves the beaches of the Great River Volga. And also berries, fruits and vegetables, which are present here in abundance.

Welcome! :-*

Wow! The Turks advanced in the conquests of Russia.  :crybaby: :-X

By the opening of the summer season there were flights of Turkish low-costers.
I flew the first flight from AtlasGlobal to Istanbul.
This is a presentation to the international terminal (recently opened) Volgograd Airport.

Now it is budget and convenient to get to the south of Russia via Istanbul. tiphat

That is extra nice.

Although, my trip through Istanbul was STRANGE. In between terrorist attacks. And a guy in a wheel chair screaming 'Allah Akbar.'

It is a historical Istanbul, the capital of the Byzantine and Ottoman empires.

This is the view of the Bosphorus from the window of my hotel.

I lived in the European part of Istanbul. Through the Golden Horn - the Asian side, which connects the Galata Bridge.
Further publication of photos from the Internet. I apologize, I do not like taking pictures.

The historical peninsula.

His Majesty the Bosporus.

At the crossroads of continents, cultures, religions, history ...

Sulaimaniye.

Aya Sofia is once an Orthodox church and Moslem mosque, and today a museum located in the old part of Istanbul opposite the Blue Mosque.

Horror! I sympathize with you. I, in advance of my trip to Istanbul, in the group "Istanbul" on Facebook found out about the riots in Istanbul.
Local residents said that the rallies are held at Taksim. The historical part of Istanbul - Fatih - is safe for tourism.

And, of course, the famous Shopping of Istanbul. :king:
Grand Bazaar is the largest bazaar in the world.

The Egyptian Bazaar. Here are the famous oriental spices and sweets.

Privet Annushka !

Your new airport in Volgograd looks v.modern.

Istanbul is a wonderfully bizarre city with the mix if Byzantine Christianity and more recent Islamic constructions.

I'm glad you had a great holiday and thanks for the photos

I lived in the European part of Istanbul. Through the Golden Horn - the Asian side..

Annushka, my apologies - if you meant something else - but how you have written it - it 'appears' you are suggesting the 'Golden Horn' is on the 'Asian side' - it is on the European side

http://www.greatistanbul.com/golden_horn.html

I always wanted to see Istanbul after watching the James Bond movie - 'From Russia with Love' - although the beautiful Russian spy turned out to be an Italian actress (Daniela Bianchi) who's voice was dubbed :(

It didn't disappoint

Привет! You do not know well in Istanbul. This is the map of the Bosphorus.

http://cappadociavisit.com/bosfor-dusha-stambula/

The bay "Golden Horn" is located in front of 1 bridge across the Bosphorus.
My lucky choice of a place of hotel had the Metro "Marmaraj",
Sirkesi. Therefore, I had the opportunity to fully enjoy the beauty of the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn and the historical Istanbul. Because of the stormy weather, I did not have time to make a long tour of the Bosphorus. Only sea tram.

The maiden tower is located on a small rocky islet where the Bosphorus connects to the Sea of Marmara. The maiden tower is located closer to the Asian coast of Istanbul.

Merhaba Annushka, hanım !

Here is a map that loads:

As you can see - the Golden Horn is on the WEST - European side ..   Perhaps we agree - and something is lost in translation ? ;)

Since 2007 - my first time  - not including long layovers - even though I left the airport to take tours - I have stayed in Istanbul 4 times and visited the Lycian Coast 4 times, also.  I have been to Turkey too many times - having lived in Cyprus nearly nine years.

I believe I know Istanbul, quite well :)))

As small as that island is, I guess the Turks don't believe their women are maidens ...

Selam! I did not understand: why did you translate the "dash" punctuation mark, like the Asian part of Istanbul? ???
I lived at the junction of the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn and the Sea of Marmara. The European side. I saw all the charms of Istanbul at once. I also visited Asia.  :king:

I think that I should continue to study the Bosporus. As I wrote above, the stormy weather did not allow me to make a Great Journey through the Bosphorus. Ahead of waiting for the Princes' Islands. Perhaps the resort of Yalova. :-X

Turks are persistent in manifesting their love for Russia.
This year Pegasus Airlines stepped up its activities,
Sabiha Gökçen (Istanbul).

Cup of Confederations 2017. Kazan. A small photosession from my son. So the students of Russia relax after passing the State exam. In anticipation of the defense of the diploma at the university. :)
