Some pics of the revolution in Kiev
« on: March 05, 2014, 02:34:03 PM »
Greetings all, I havent been on this forum for a long time! But I have been to Ukraine 18 times in the past 2 years! I was in Kiev for the last 2 weeks of February, so I seen a lot of whats going on. The first photo is with my friends brother Oleg who has taken 2 months unpaid leave from a very good job to demonstrate his desire for his fellow citizens to enjoy the same lifestyle and priveledges he has through a western employer. there were a couple of old Cossacks on Kreshatik and Irelands support for the revolution!

I doubt that it is authentic ~ but it is amusing in particular that the woman is drawn from a Taras Shevchenko image.

A strange thing happened, there was a piano sitting in the middle of Kreshatik and this hooded guy sat down and started playing superb classical numbers.

I would not worry ~ allot present think on there heads so they will not notice - please post away. I will try to add some more as well.

I think perhaps the most amazing sight was the home made catapult, it was out of a Mad-Max film. On the other hand at one of the barricades was on one side a policeman and the other side a demonstrator moving the traffic through, there is hope.

There were way to many individual memorials around the city of those who died.

At other points there were photo memorials.

If this was picked up by Russia Today, they would be suggesting Oleg's unpaid leave was being funded by MI5, CIA, or some western NGO to support the 'fascists'  :'(

Great photos, thanks

I think it should be the symbol of that so called revolution -  рояль в кустах

My guess (I posted it elsewhere) the revolution was summed up by The Who, We won't Get Fooled Again Odd that a bunch of English rockers can sum it up so well in a song.
