We have just received an E-mail, confirming that my wife and son's permanent resident status has been approved.
Wife landed 2 days ago for the holidays  :chuckle: All things being equal, it went well, original stated time was 12 months
then moved to 14 months on website, they officially received file last Jan. so was completed in 10 months.
They only need passports sent  to embassy and new photos to complete package. We will like wait til Jan. when my wife returns.

 Very good news guy!

We'll have to meet up with her there before she heads back to you. Ask her if she's like to meet for chai?

Actually, she showed up here 3 days before we found out. They asked for new medicals few weeks ago, Told her then we get those the Visa will be done, strange for them to tell her on the phone, but great at the same time.
We figured would still be a month or so, We already had plans for her to come for Christmas, so we continued on.
Heads back Jan. 12th then have to send passports of to embassy, told us takes about 5 days to complete.
So we will plan for late Jan.

Well wife has experienced her first flight from Hell.
Left at 1:45pm local time Monday to Toronto.
Weather for whole trip looked good, so one would think ahh great.
Gets to Toronto, boards plane for Frankfurt, 3 hours later, they get off plane
Mechanical reasons, this is now 9 ish. After a lot of confusion airline doesn't know
much, I tell her to get a room, get some sleep. By 3am they give her a room, finally.
More confusion before they get it sorted out lots of calls, late last night finally gets on a plane.
Now in Frankfurt, with another 7 hour wait for flight to Kiev. If no more issues, should land 930
Kiev time tonight. Wednesday. So approx. 55 hours later. We re-arranged her car home.
So driver and son will pick her up, should see apartment by midnight.

Thats a long haul. Hope she recovers and bounces back in quick time.
Unfortunately she doesn't do well with time zones either direction,
At least she got few hours sleep in Hotel and proper shower.
Also she slept on the plane, which she normally can never do :chuckle:

She won't be as busy this trip back, as she has a month to get everything in order.
This will be last official trip, when she heads back to Canada.
She will have to pack up final stuff as well as her son will also.
Will be his first trip here, so that should be interesting.

Glad to hear that even with the delay she will be home soon once again.  Then that all important final flight back to you in about a month for both of them.  So your wait is nearing its end too.  So all the best to all of you as you work to make this happen for another Canadian and FSU family.

All the best of the season as well, including Happy Old New Year.
