New service in Moscow
« on: January 11, 2013, 10:39:17 AM »
Maybe some of you have seen me in the chat room. Maybe some of you have read the few posts I have made over the last few weeks, and recognize my user name.

Whatever the case, I wanted to tell the board about a new apartment service I have started in Moscow.

I'm an American who has been living here in Moscow for the last 9 years. This venture was something I wanted to do way back when, but I either didn't have the money to get it going, or didn't know what I know now. As we all know, the market has changed quite a bit, and there many more services providing apartments to the business or casual tourist in Moscow. Nevertheless, I thought I would, along with my partner, give it a go.

We want to provide a great experience to the visitor, and we want you to get real value for your money. And because we understand that there are many other services one could chose from, we felt we would have to do something to separate us from the crowd.

With that in mind, here is a breakdown of our services:

Ninety percent of our apartments are located in the center or within one metro stop from the center (Tverskaya and Arbat areas).

All apartments are Western renovated and have every creature comfort from high speed internet, new appliances, Satellite TV, queen size beds, etc.

The price range of these apartments is from $120-170 per night. I think you'll find these rates consistent with the market and very reasonable for what you get.

I understand that this is not so usual if one searches for a deal. So, what makes us different:

We offer to personally pick you or your party up at the airport and take you to your apartment.

We also offer a full range of concierge services for your convenience, such as offering an overview of how the city works from the metro, to taxis, to where the best or most affordable restaurants and clubs are, buying theater/concerts/show tickets to any of the upcoming events in Moscow (we will also let you know in advance who is playing in Moscow or what shows are available), buying you the best metro pass for your stay here, provide you with a local phone or Sim card, or even exchange money for you before your arrival, etc.. Really anything that you can think of, we'll do it for you before you arrive. We can and will work with you so that you can maximize your experience here in Moscow. We can even tell you where you can go and meet locals (RW) who speak English and who aren't sitting in some nightclub or bar.

Still not impress, well all of the above services are included into the price of the room. IOW, absolutely free.

We understand that it can be intimidating coming to Russia. But, collectively, we have 20 years of experience in Moscow, speak fluent English and Russian, and have dealt with Russia as foreigners, so we know the ins and outs of coming here as one. We have seen/been involved with just about any situation you can think of, and then some. We can even tell you how to deal with the authorities should a problem arise.

If anyone is interested now or in the future, you can contact me with a PM and I will direct you to where you can take a closer look at everything. Thank you.

Eric, did you read my post?

I didn't post the link at this moment for a reason. And since the typical traveller should preplan their trip in advance, I will direct anyone to the website. If you are serious about it, just contact me for now. Availability shouldn't be a problem as we can accommodate someone in almost any situation.

I will post the link at a later date, but soon. Bear with me  tiphat

To whom it may concern, here is the link to our website. We will be continually adding apartments and some are available that we haven't added yet. If anyone is interested, we can send other options individually to you, or work within your requests. Thanks

Good luck in your new venture.

It is critically important to keep your selection inside of the "ring road" or perhaps one Metro stop outside.

It is also important that all your units offer air conditioning.  Is that the case?

I like the idea of an airport pick-up but with the advent of the direct rail transfer and considering the jammed Moscow roads that idea might need to be modified.

Perhaps your representative can meet your customer at the designated airport, help them with their baggage, purchase rail transport and then Metro tickets and escort them to their apartments in that manner instead of an automobile pick up and thereby subjecting them to the possibility of a 2-3 hour transport time from the airport to the apartment.

I'm always looking for places as close to Tverskaya as possible.  Do you have one with two bedrooms and a sleeper (with air conditioning of course)?

Overall nice website.  I agree with Shakespear's comments above.  One of the apartments is on the 8th floor, but it does not specify if there is an elevator.

The link for news does not seem to be working.
Be careful what you wish for, you might get it.

Thanks for the well wishes Shakespear.

Most of the apts are inside the ring road. We do have some a little further out at a cheaper rate to try an accommodate a tighter budget. As far as air conditioning, to be honest I know some do, but can't be 100% sure about all of them. I have a/c in my flat and have used it maybe 3 times except for the time I used it during the awful summer of 2010 when temperatures hit 40C for a couple of weeks. I will admit it was a life saver then.

About the pick up and rail service. If you notice we offer both. Matter of fact we're offering a free roundtrip ticket on AeroExpress to new clients. We have a client in at the moment and offered him the free option, but he still chose to be picked up by car. Go figure. I agree with you, the rail system from all 3 major airports is best.

Just to add, with the free ticket, we will meet you at the airport, help you with your things, personally escort you to the metro station it arrives at, and pay the taxi fare to your apartment. It's all about service Shakes, something we want to push, and something that often lacks here in Russia as you well know.

We feel the pricing for the flats is consistent with the market, but also feel we can simply offer better service and value for your buck. There is no hidden agenda with us. You get exactly what you pay for and won't have to worry about any markups once you get to your flat. And we offer what basically amounts to a free concierge service included in the price of the flat.

About your request, would you consider the Arbat area or maybe something on the Sadovoe Kolso (2nd ring)?
