You were vague, and i put some figures to it  :) i agree a man should pay for his wife's education cost. Nothing wrong with a woman wanting a car, to stay at home, nice clothes. Women i know all want to work if they came to the west with me, my ex wanted to live in russia, and would never leave her job in the bank. Her father pressured her mum to quit work, and rely on him, now her mother is a bank manager and earns more than her husband. If a woman does not want to work, but wants all the luxuries she will need to be a legitimate Russian fashion model, to find a young foreigner, or marry a man twice her age. I know a woman in baku, who is a model in moscow, goes on dates with young men in Dubai. She is absolutely beautiful, does tv presenting also.

Having a medium wallet (earning $200k a year), with a house, won't land an guy with a woman half his age who is a russian model. YOU NEED A MASSIVE WALLET, or be physically attractive, and have your shit together financially.

When I sell up I have already decided to write a book about dating especially foreign dating, guys who search a foreign wife and all that goes with it...
It will be hilarious and Im sure a top seller, it will not be an advise book as giving advise is usually a waste of time more along the lines of  humour.. ;D

No need - just search on Youtube for 'Danielle and Mohamed 90 day fiance' and write it down! Taster-time! Classic car-crash telly!

I want to write more about people and their ***** crazy expectations..

Can you imagine one guy from Canada writing to women explaining , he cannot afford to make her a Canadian visa so it was important that she already has this.. If she never it was fine but however she got to Canada she could stay illegally at his house and he would pay her $50 a week to do some cleaning and help out..

His main question was also "Have you any kids?"  reason being he cannot afford to look after any more kids he had two of his own..If you have kids olde enough to stay in Russia he would be willing to send each month $100 a month to look after them some where..

He told every women he is a Christian and goes to church every week...  What that has to do with it I really don't know..

Anyway he contacted me a few months back explaining he couldn't afford a subscription and could I give him a discount..

I gave him free membership for life as he will need it...

There are millions of nutters out there!
I support no government anywhere, ever, never. No institution, No religion!!

I looked at another couple of clips involving him. It struck me, on limited evidence, that he is not the only bad guy here.

She is a nutter who has abandoned any sense of reality. He, I think, started out wanting to try to do something but found himself unable to do so. Not everyone is able to prostitute themselves.

When I think of the kind of relationships that some old blokes want I am reminded of an episode of Sex and the City in which one of the characters is trying to have a relationship with an old, but wealthy bloke. The guy is a great fellow, fun to be with, well bred, intelligent. He gives her the customary gift of jewelry before dropping trow. She is repelled by the sight of his scrawny old man buttocks and thighs and refuses to consummate the relationship.

I reckon that Mohamed found himself in a similar situation - the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. He couldn't overcome his revulsion toward his new wife, at least not for the rest of his life.
...everything ends always well; if it’s still bad, then it’s not the end!

Chicken, i am female. I am not interested in women in that way. Neither Russians, nor models. None. I was not vague. I What i said was this:
Quote
The mother of your gf has to think how to support the whims of her spoiled daughter who is still too young to understand things that come with time. The mother of your gf has to think of her own mother, who most probably needs meds and care (all costs). She can't be careless, she won't pay tickets just to have fun with someone who has 6 pack.

(It's here: 83 Ask a Russian Speaking Lady - Спроси у русской леди / Re: Is it about privacy or something else?)

I also added most women of generation of your gf's mom expect the man to be generous. Normally it means buying flowers, dining, small gifts. It's called "ухаживание".
If you can afford Ivy league for your future Mrs Chicken, i think it's super cool. I don't have any firm opinion on that either. Whatever makes you and her happy :)

About courtship: http://www.psychologos.ru/articles/view/kak_uhazhivat_za_zhenschinoy

How To Court A Woman.

Perhaps my poor comprehension here but it seems that for Russians courtship is synonymous with taking care of the target of their affections. That's not the case for English speaking folks. If my understanding is correct that'd explain some difficulties that western, particularly USAian men have with Russophone women.

Of course your understanding is correct. That's what i was (among else) trying to convey to Chickenbrah, but it seems to no avail.

:plane:  Sorry but the above is beyond a basic level of understanding for some.

I suspect that empathy is a foreign word at least in the context of a relationship.   :travel:

What confused me , was the use of the word naive. I assumed you meant naive, as in if a man does not court a woman, it means he lacks funds, in turn can not help pay for the woman's mother medical bill, and other important things.

Courtship is something i know, i bought my ex flowers several times. First time we met, i just arrived in moscow, did not get a chance to buy her flowers. We were in a mall, i told her i had to go to the toilet, went to grab some roses . It was an odd number of roses, as you know, number of roses has to be an odd number, as it symbolizes love between two people shouldn't be able to divide. She told me never to spend money on her, unless we were married, but it did not stop me.I can go through a list of things i did , bought for her, little things. I didn't spend big money, when i returned to london i did offer to pay for a trip to Greece for her to meet me there, that would have been the most expensive thing i would have done at that point of time.

I agree most westerners are well off and still do not court a woman. They think they are smart by saving £10 on a bunch of roses, they rather spend couple hundred bucks on an escort for a few hours. I always seen courtship in the west and fsu as an investment, spend a little, get a more beautiful and sincere woman, best ROI. I do not understand why some of the guys earn good money, and at the same time are cheap.

A romantic idea, but custom in Russia is that even-numbered-flowers are for funerals....

I see what you mean, but i don't think that's the main reason. The "courtship" process is very different in English- speaking world and in Russian speaking world. What's considered "normal" in FSU and even expected, is called "being pushy" and even stalking in the USA.
If the guy does not open the door/ hold the chair in FSU, he's considered rude. In USA, most women would hate being treated like that.
Russian ladies mostly love flowers and it's BIG to buy flowers. Even in my country it's not like that.
I do not think Russian men like escorts any less than Western men, btw  ;D
Basically, for what i understand, you are doing quite well for yourself in FSU. I think main point of the article Andy shared and the reason i am writing this is to point out the differences in two cultures, which many might not be aware of unless they lived for decades in FSU or have studied related subjects academically. See what i mean?

Yes. Only and exclusively. And it's so throughout Eastern Europe and Balkans.
Also, in Balkans, Carnations are only brought/ sent to funerals. In Moscow, I've seen students bringing Carnations on March 8th to their female Uni lectures. I did ask about it, seems Carnation does not have such an "exclusive" role in FSU.

Currently i am doing alright, but i have big Goals for my future trips .

Regards to my ignorance regarding FSU culture. Recently i understood why fsuw are so direct. Before i used to find it a bit off putting. There is a lot to learn, but the things like pull a chair for a woman, and holding the door for her is second nature for me ???? i am used to giving foot rubs ,back massages, and cooking.

Don't neglect how to operate a vacuum cleaner. An FSU woman may judge a man by his vacuuming skills.  :)
